The Mere - Ellesmere — Attraction in Ellesmere Urban

Lovely lake in Ellesmere. There's a nice linear walk that takes about 25 minutes along the side of the Mere and into a wooded area. You can do the return walk in under an hour. Facilities include a pub restaurant, ice-cream parlour, sculpture trail, children's play area, boat hire, fishing and toilets. There's good carparks beside it, that cost £2.30 for the day or free between 5:30pm and 8:00am. Ellesmere mere is nice to visit and the walk through the wood and children's play area are great for families. The best think about Ellesmere though is that there are multiple walks and meres in the area to choose from so there really is no need to suffer the busy days in the summer. Such a lovely place. A nice slow stroll with the dogs, with friends or as a family. A small hut that sells ice creams & drinks. But if you fancy a more luxury sitting then I suggest the boathouse (also dog friendly).
