Thai At Ellesmere (Formerly Thai Gate) — Restaurant in England

Terrible restaurant. Ordered last Friday through Justeat. After collecting and arriving home I found that some of the items were missing. On the just eat app it states all mains come with boiled rice, ours didn’t. I rang the restaurant who couldn’t seem to understand we were missing items. On a side note, it is also very overpriced. £3 for a portion of chips, I counted 10 very poor quality frozen chips. Portion of spare ribs nearly £6. These were very small and of the same quality as a supermarket frozen product. Due to missing items I decided to return all of my food to the restaurant for a refund. When I returned the food the cashier said he couldn’t refund me due to purchasing through justeat and that I would have to do it through them. I reluctantly left the food on the counter and did as he said. After a week of trying to contact Justeat with no response I had to open a PayPal dispute for the refund. They finally refunded as a voucher for just eat, not ideal as the only restaurant in Ellesmere that uses just eat is the Thai restaurant! I don’t intend to ever visit there again! The restaurant should have refunded me the money upon return of the food which I have not even eaten. Very overpriced and very poor quality food with false advertising on the menu. Much better food available at small Thai noodle bars and at a fraction of the price. Take my advice and avoid at all costs.

Sent email to restaurant in regards to refund as suggested in reply to my original review. This was a week ago, still no response. Obviously only put on reply to make themselves look good! 3 dishes were actually returned. 2x beef stir fry dishes and 1x chicken fried rice along with 2x missing boiled rice. I only requested refund for the returned dishes and kept the poor quality chips and ribs. Also we mentioned the poor quality of the chips on the phone before...

We have had food here both takeaway and dine in. Both of which had absolutely incredible food. the restaurant is decorated beautifully, and is staffed by absolutely lovely people who are very kind and attentive. I spoke to the owner (who somehow managed both cooking and taking care of the front of house amazingly!!) and she was so so lovely. If you're in Ellesmere, you MUST eat from this restaurant,...

Our food was well over an hour late and we had to wait around to collect with no explanation given for the delay, only being continously told "It'll be ready in 10 minutes." for over an hour. This is completely unacceptable, give your customers honest expectations of when their food will be ready as no-one wants to wait outside a restaurant...
