Excellent place to visit, always something to find to do Beautiful peaceful park,. With a fantastic Fontaine always poring out clean water. Perfect place to sit and watch the world go by. Squirrels running around collecting there winter food, and re burying it. Sea gulls trying to grab odd bits if sandwiches, I'd lucky...plenty of charity shops to look round for that special gift for a family or friend.. if bored there is always the library to look up old pictures of the area.or chance sighting of the ghost ship lives there . Lovely pubs Cow Ox Britannia and many more places to eat. Something for every one...Bennett's one of the oldest bakeries in the area...many of us have had our Wedding cakes made there. So much more private pet shop..always very helpful ...one of the nicest post office in Poole the staff always there to help... Well worth a visit for tourist.s take time to check out the tops of buildings as all our very old and have many special features ..as does the one opposite station .Cow. A pair of Doves touching when the sun is in the right place.....look up to see the true looks of building.....well worth sending them...good luck round the area...the green is very old.... happy...

This is a beautiful little area of natural beauty located slap bang in the centre of Ashley Cross. The water fountain located in the middle is Ian iconic part of anyone's childhood if they have grown up in the area and will recall a time people threw loose coins into it for luck. Not anymore sadly as people would don snorkle masks on search of a few extra quid these days!! Lots of dog walkers frequent the area and it's a great place to sit and watch the world go by. There's a public loo (still open I think) and a little kiddy play area with objects to balance and climb on (even at my age I've been known to hop from these time-to-time). The squirrels are brave little chaps and will approach you for snippets of food if you're quiet and love wildlife encounters as much as me. I personally love this little patch of green with humungous mature trees that have been growing here much longer...

Unfortunately my return to a lovely place where my family lived for a year in 1974 was during lockdown. I took the train to collect a car, so it wasn't a planned trip for old times. However, it was a baking hot day and I spent an hour by the water feature in the park reading while I waited. And it couldn't have been more relaxing as traffic scarce and others in the park happy and relaxed. Had a stroll round to see changes, plenty of eating places with tempting menus, interesting shops with interesting wares and a large pub by the station. I'm almost convinced that pub used to be The Station a biker pub, I used to frequent. My experience on that return made me determined to go back when...

Nice little park in the centre of Ashley Cross surrounded by various pubs, eatery's and shops. Ashley Cross Green was previously called Parkstone Park was officially opened on the 17 January 1890 by the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII). The Green is just over 3.14 acres. Parking nearby is limited. There is a children's play area in the park. The park is licensed to hire for outdoor events. Dogs are allowed.

Lovely eclectic area. Enhanced by the new deli. The green has a decorative fountain and a few benches. It is surrounded by a fine mixture of food ships, patisseries, coffee shops, independent restaurants, and bars.
