Ever wondered what that yellow train was outside Epping station? Well, it's part of the Epping Museum of Underground memorabilia! The Museum now opens to the public on Saturdays so I went and had a look. Fascinating! Not only can you get on the train and play with the controls, there's also a signal cabin with loads of exhibits. Best of all upsatirs there's 47 signal levers the public are shown how to pull in response to a simulator.

We had a fantastic tour with Peter today! We only planned to stop by for a quick look, but ended up staying for an hour and a half. We learned so many fascinating things, and both our children and we were absolutely delighted. Peter himself made the experience even more special — he guided us with such enthusiasm and genuine love for what he does. Truly unforgettable! Highly recommend visiting!

Very interesting museum with very friendly and knowledgeable staff. As an engineer I learnt a lot and children also were interested because of the knowledgeable staff in charge who made it fun. Free admission, but they would appreciate a donation of your choice when you leave. Have a look while you use the huge TFL car park at the Epping tube station.

The volunteers have worked tirelessly since 2014 to bring you this unique opportunity to see how London Transport operated both electric and steam trains through the Epping area in 1949.

The signal cabin has been fully restored with a 47 lever frame which operates virtual trains through the area, experience what it's like to be a Signalman by working the frame.

Locomotive L11 is a unique example of upcycling, not a word used back in the 60s. Go inside and operate the controls of this Standard Stock train, originally a passenger train on the Piccadilly Line.

The museum is run by volunteers and funded...

We visited the museum today with our two train loving young boys. We were greated at the gate by Bob, who showed us around. He was absolutley amazing with our two boys and so passionate and enthusiastic about the signals. Our eldest is really into signals and so the signal cabin at the end was definitely the highlight. Thanks so much to everyone for making us feel so welcome. We shall definitely be back again and would highly recommend this...
