Raj Indian Restaurant — Restaurant in Epping Forest

Come here on a regular basis. Good food, good service would always give 5 stars.

However!!!

Saturday night was awful. It took 45min to get our first drinks, 3 bottles of wine, 3 large Cobra's so nothing to taxing. Another 15min to take our order. So we've already been here an hour when we finally got our order taken. An hour later our food is served, not all together but in dribs and drabs, with dishes forgotten and wrong dishes. We've now been here two hours.

All the time we are waiting, their phone doesn't stop ringing. The waiters are running around with take away orders, whilst we're sat waiting in restaurant, being ignored.

Then to add insult to injury we get the bill. There is no way a meal for 6 people should be around £250. We did not eat nor drink anything that I would consider worth that much money! The food was good, but not out of this world.

This place needs to work out what it wants. Either a bloody good restaurant or a take away. You can't do both in the same place without the restaurant suffering.

So in conclusion, we won't be going back, we will stop recommending people to go there, we will find somewhere else in...

I'm sorry to say that this is the worst Indian meals I've ever eaten which was cold and tasteless, my wife and I booked the table for a Thursday evening for her mother's 87th birthday we were a party of seven. We booked a week in advance. When we arrived at 7.30 the manager at first said he couldn't seat a party of seven even though he was told a week ago. He then pushed some tables together with such a nasty attitude we nearly walked out, her elderly parents were made to stand over 10 minutes. Eventually seated we sat for over 20mins to be asked for drinks all the while they were going back and forth with takeaways. I don’t normally go to the effort of writing reviews but felt I had make an exception on this occasion, from the moment we walked in to the moment we left we were treated with nothing but kindness and the utmost professionalism. The restaurant does get very busy and the phone was constantly ringing with takeaway orders however the staff at raj were so attentive and considerate it did not have any impact on the service we received.
