Massive slide in there that hasnât been functional for years, so itâs a waste of space and could be used or get rid of it and replace it with something that is useable. I think the indoor soft play is quite small if itâs winter and you canât use the outdoor area. In summer, the outdoor splash area and park is good and makes the price worth it. Have gone here for parties also, usually well organised and the staff usually are helpful. I find the âbabyâ area is not actually a baby area, more like a ball pit area where 7 year olds take over and the babies canât be in the area without there being risk, I wish staff were stricter on this and Iâm saying this as someone with a 5 year old. Itâs not too bad if the kids know to be careful around younger ones but more often than not, you get the few who love to aggressively throw balls at other kids heads and when told to stop, ignore you. The park area outside is nice, donât think itâs changed much since itâs been there if at all but it does the job. The food here is good, had worse food from other soft plays. They do have a go kart area with massive zorbs which is very fun and went keep kids entertained for ages. Good amount of park I think, I donât drive but donât think Iâve seen anyone have issues parking. Conveniently located up the road from the Fairwater shops which we like to visit after. Yes it is a bit out of the way but the 6 bus does go to fairwater shops and you can walk from there, itâs not far. There are baby changing facilities and a disabled toilet which is useful for changing children in after theyâve got out of the splash pool. The climb up board outside by the splash pad pool is also a good additional, with a slide and wheel for any kiddos that are into boats or pretending...
Read moreMaybe I am being slightly harsh by only giving 1 star as I could push it to 2. The pricing is pretty good - £1 for adults, £1 for babies under 1 year old and £5 for babies over 1 year old. There are two separate sections that to me were very clearly marked "Over 4's only" & "Under 4's only". The writing on these signs is very large for all to see... There was probably only 3-4 toddlers there under 4 years old when we went at 12.30 today. This means that there should've been 3-4 toddlers in there - plus their parent(s) of course... Not today. The older kids were running back and forth the sections and their parents just didn't care as they sat back chatting to each other. The staff clearly weren't paying attention either as nothing was said to the parents although they did shout nice and loudly "Table 23, your food order is ready". A little baby was knocked over by a couple of older children as they raced around the toddler area which resulted in toddler's mother taking him out of the play area. My 1 year old was scared stiff during his first ever visit today. We perhaps shouldn't have booked during the school holidays but if you have a designated toddler area, you don't expect it to be rammed full with older kids who run about throwing everything in sight... You can't blame the kids of course as kids will be kids but the parents should learn to read clearly marked signs and the staff should be able to keep an eye on what is going on. Ruined the experience for us today...
Read moreI went here today and the monkey island is amazing. We took food with us thinking it was like other places in Cardiff where your own food is welcome but was told to clear our things away. Totally our fault there were sign (however six other people as well as us hadnât noticed them either, as they told us). Letâs just say we werenât told quietly but totally understand that, they werenât to know it was our first time. I went in and asked if this was likely to change and was told NO. I tried to explain and was cut off and told that they do sandwiches for as little as ÂŁ2. I explained this wasnât the case I was asking from an intolerance/allergy point of view, to be told they cater for that. I again tried to explain but to no avail. I wasnât asked what they were or offered to see any chart regarding the types of food and allergies etc just not a nice experience. I have read the rules above and understand they have been slated in the passed for not controlling the situation but I think there is still a way to treat people. I understand they must getting people taking the mick etc but it was an honest mistake and a genuine question. It was our first time here at monkey island and would love to return I now know to plan as a morning or afternoon activity and not over lunch. It would of been nice to have been treated with a bit of respect and consideration and thatâs why I scored lower than I would of liked as the...
