!! DON"T LIVE HERE !! It is now the third day that my room is without heating, I have sent multiple requests for it to be fixed, and despite the fact that they have assured me the heating would be fixed (01/02/2023), it still has not been fixed. I ended up developing a cold that same night I first spent without heating and it has made it difficult to recover. I am asking for basic utilities in my flat, and nobody in the building has cared to try to help, they didn't even come up to check, and its getting frustrating that nobody has listened to neither my maintenance request, nor the email's that I have sent. If this is how they treat residents asking for heat in the winter, I would say you should find somewhere else to live. EDIT: Radiator was fixed on (06/02/2023) however I had to stay without heating for 6 days in the middle of winter as well as dealing with a sinus infection, I am aware that many other flats had this issue yet there was never a notice of a universal issue nor an apology for the inconvenience, I was only aware that it was fixed because it just turned on randomly. I was only contacted about the issue almost 2 months after they saw my review. **Another issue that has been occurring is the lack of support that they give to residents here, almost every issue that I have reported as well as other residents has gone unnoticed. I have been having issues with flatmates breaking multiple rules and despite multiple emails, photo evidence, and meetings with the staff, nothing has been done. Living here has become so uncomfortable that two of my flatmates had to move because they were not being supported, and I consistently feel like my problems are being ignored in favour of those that are breaking rules. These issues could be fixed but we were told that it was basically too much work for them to evict them, and while I understand that it's not easy to do, I am now the one suffering. Before moving here I would consider these facts because if you have ANY problem, they will most likely be ignored or you will only be given the bare...
Read moreAs this was the first time I would be living in the UK, I was quite overwhelmed at first, not knowing whether I would feel properly accommodated or not.
Scape Brighton stepped in and provided me with unseen kindness and care. I was taken aback at how efficient the team worked, making sure to provide continuous communication whenever I reached out to them regarding a question or concern.
Although many mention that the buildings are yet in a process of construction, and complain about their state of completion, Scape Brighton has been working at an astonishingly quick pace regardless of the ongoing COVID-19 difficulties. They have also provided extra perks for the duration of time in which social spaces have not been used.
It is undeniable that Scape Brighton, including the team, have become more than just a booking for accommodation, it has become an experience and adventure. I am well and truly never bored, and even though my room is just one of the many, the whole building feels like home.
I have to recognize the efforts of the following: Luke for always having our backs and best interests, James for his genuine hard work and down to earth qualities, best buddy Billy who deserves a lot of credit, Dan for fixing everything (even bad days) with his smile, Laura and her exuberant and kind nature, fantastic Vicky working hard as the pillar and backbone, cheerful Tara who looks out for our wellbeing, the living legend Chris who carries so much on his shoulders, Karen who greets each day with a smile and determination, and finally David who makes us feel safe and sound.
An unquantifiable amount of thanks to this passionate group of people who helped bring it...
Read moreMany mixed feelings about Scape Brighton, I have given 3 stars simply because the staff are lovely however, it does not take away from the fact that there are quite a few issues with this accommodation.
Unbearably HOT : If you are thinking of staying here over the summer, please reconsider. With most rooms having only one window, which hardly open and are even sometimes locked, ventilation and temperature are a massive issue, especially if you are on a higher floor with all the rising heat.
Vermin : A rat was spotted in the main common area. Something you definitely do not wish to see.
Construction : Struggle to wake up to a morning alarm? Not an issue, your trusty construction workers have got your back. In all seriousness, the general area is going through heaps of construction, so beware of the noise pollution.
Expensive pricing : It’s not cheap to stay here, and for the price demanded, you will be expecting value in return for that investment, please keep your expectations moderate. On a more positive note however, there are various facilities available such as a gym, cinema room etc, if that interests you.
Conclusion: Scape is far from the perfect accomodation. There are definitely positives, such as staff, facilities etc. But please don’t be fooled by the...
