Warning - Flashing lights My last Scare Fest of the season - FEAR at Avon Valley. One of my faveourites, but this year I went a bit too late in the season and caught all of the crowds. Have you ever been to Fear?#halloween #horror #fearavonvalleyscreampark #autumn #scare

I have been going to Fear over the years. It was rated UK 's best scare park this year but I was disappointed by it. There was an extra attraction but this year it seemed to be more those who organise it trying to line their pockets and make a bigger profit. The entertainment in "The Street" was four or five clowns, there were a lot less actors this year walking around entertaining guests and there was NO Fire/Lazer show! It was just two of the main clowns badly dancing on the stage. NO flames, NO flamethrower like last year. There were more security guards walking around than actors. The "Flank's Bar" didn't have enough seating, just a handful of picnic benches. The drinks were overpriced as expected and it was ONLY card payments. Then to be told you had to pay £1.50 on top for a plastic cup, and you would keep the cups and not be able to recuperate the price. You were given cup tokens when going into the attractions so you didn't have to carry the cups around but most people just throwed them in the bin. I think the themed cups should have been an option. Also located in the marquee was an escape room and paintballing range. The attractions were okay, two of them this year had photographers at the end of the line which slowed down going through and made the queue waiting time longer. The photos could be purchased at a stall in the middle of the "Street Theatre" for £3.50 each for a small print and there were other merchandise. Most queues by 8pm were over 45 mins long and then you can be in and out within 5 mins wanting more. I personally thought the attractions/mazes were too dark and not to the theme stated... Walking around in pitch black, with black walls and certains then get shouted at by an actor because you accidentally walk through a fire exit isn't good. They could have played on the senses alot more and made it more jumpy. I think X4 was the best one as they did do just this and there was a story line and the actors played their roles well. The fun fair... What fun fair? There were three rides, The Waltzers, a Mega Swing and a Farris Wheel. There were a selection of normal street food stalls that sold a range of products. Most dishes cost around £7. It was a good night but I definitely felt it was the company I was with made this and we had more of a laugh scaring each other. If I had walked around on my own this would most likely be more of a disappointing review and I would have more photos. It is worth going with family and a group of friends, getting the early entry and getting in line trying to beat the rush. I definitely wouldn't pay the "VIP" rates.

I went here last night for the first time , I didn’t know what to expect just knew I’d be scared , so we walked in through the clown head entrance which was really cool and could see many characters walking round scaring people which was awesome , we had pictures taken and they really were a great asset to the park , the first maze we visited was House of Clowns which was my least favourite , me and my 5 friends entered all holding hands , we couldn’t see anything I would imagine it was scary but the lights were too flashy to have seen the actors I had to keep a hold of my friends just to know where I was going , I never knew what it felt like to be blind until I entered that maze , next we went in Phobia:Rebirth which was better than the house of clowns but had nothing to do with phobias , we were separated into pair and told to stand in a coffin opposite each other with our arms crossed , then someone opened the door screamed and directed you the right way , was more jumpy than the house of clowns but was absolutely nothing to do with phobias at all , next we went to X4 which was awesome one of my favourites , you enter a military base and are told about the camp and everything then are led by a crazy doctor to an elevator that’s a bumpy ride then are sat in a room to watch a video then led through the maze by different characters and on your way your made jump by alien creatures making weird clicking and hissing noises the sound effects and layout was fantastic , we then took a stroll to Anarchy:Live, which was another favourite , waiting in the cue before 2 of the mazes you get photos taken , one before house of clowns with granny and one before anarchy with deadly fake weapons which you can choose to buy after ! But as we were waiting in the cue an actor asked my friend who he liked least in the group and choosing me I was then stamped with a stamp saying “dead meat “ meaning the actors in the maze chase me more than my friends as we were walking away he shook my mates hand and stamped him also which was brilliant karma so we were both dead meat ! We were trapped in cages upon entering the maze and then lead through all these wooden slats whilst being jumped out at by actors it was very realistic then we were chased out by a guy with a chainsaw ! Then finally we saved the best till last because Vita Nova was my favourite after cueing for 40 mins it was definitely worth the wait , as your get close to the front of the cue a lady dressed as an alien asks you if your family or friends , our group was a mix of family and friends , she then said it doesn’t matter in this maze cause we are all on our own for this , we then entered and walked to the top of some stairs and were called in one by one by a nurse and then led to a big room and were lined up against a wall and called toward one by one to crawl down one of two tunnels then led through a mirror maze with loads of scary nurses jumping out then you end up in what seemed to be some kind of psych ward and are chased out by asylum people , it was such an awesome experience and I’d definitely go back next year , I will warn you will need a lot of patience with the queuing though with some of the characters walking through the queue it made time speed up a little...

Still 5* but have some bad bits to be aware of.

First time ever coming to this and was so impressed! Managed to get on every maze. Shortest wait time was about 10 mins and the longest was 40 but its just like a theme park just work from the back to the front as everyone goes to the nearest ones first! Staff are super helpful and their is a good theme across the area. Mazes are a great laugh! Actors are great and keep you on your toes and the music and light effects are superb (although would 100% not go on any of these if your suffer from epilepsy etc)

Drinks are expensive so if you want to drink do it before. Food was good for what you got but gain ranges on average of 7 - 10 quid per item.

Stage performances where amazing! One thing that did kill the vibe was they where playing a local radio station or something so the music would play and then stop for news or weather updates. You could 100% tell it was annoying the dancers on stage as all they could do was stop and just start around until music started again which made me feel bad but was just weird to hear house music and then an advert for paint and emulsion......

Last I would say the drive to the venue is difficult. Parking is fine but just before the venue is a single track bridge. At the start of the night cars kept crossing and crossing to come in but the people who where trying to leave had been waiting 30 minutes! I would of atleast had to members of staff trying to help with traffic!

Overall would come back again was great and staff...
