The following is the text of a complaint I have emailed to KFC after visiting today:
"My wife and I were extremely disappointed with our experience at this store today, both in terms of covid safety measures and service received.
Service issues: One of the illuminated signs was broken and flickering making it difficult to read. I ordered a kids meal. I was not advised at the point of ordering that the ice-cream machine was broken or that there was no yogurt in stock. Instead, without consultation, I was provided extra fries which I didn't want. When I went back to the counter to ask about this I was asked if I wanted to exchange an item. By this time I was so disappointed, for reasons outlined below, with the experience in store I just said I'd accept what I'd been given. COVID safety: The restaurant felt crowded from the moment we arrived. The queue was not socially distanced and was uncomfortably close to diners. It didn't look like there had been any attempt to improve distancing in the physical environment. the server taking orders was not wearing a face mask and the counter was only partially obscured by a screen. during our visits customers arrived, placed orders and we're served without wearing face coverings. In a group of two adults and 4 children, the adults showed no indication they would wear face coverings while ordering and then moving frequently around the restaurant with the children. The children ran around the restaurant with little supervision, no indication of disrancing and sat at least 3 different tables. Another group included two adults who did not wear masks when moving around the restaurant. When I attempted to order I was told the displayed KFC track and trace qr code could not be scanned because the restaurant would not show up. I was told the book they used to record contact details was full. I was then told I couldn't be served until I installed and checked in using the NHS track and trace app.
Overall the visit was stressful and caused some anxiety that overshadowed any experience of the food. Extremely disappointing given the high standard of service and covid sensitivity I have come to expect from other fast food...
Read moreDrove here the other day. Arrived at 8.35pm and the main restaurant was shut but drive through was open. Queued up and when I got there was told that they had nothing at all except for hot wings. When I asked why, he said because they close at 9pm. So when i said "well that's in 25 minutes" he replied with "well I'm not going to make any more chicken if I'm closing soon am I?" I was about to order for 5 people so that's around £30+ on my order. At least 2 other cars in front of me ordered nothing and the same for the car behind me as it soon followed me out of the car park. I know this is a franchise but this guy has no idea what he's doing. He probably lost out on £100 of business whilst I was there alone. He said he didn't want to waste chicken, but with the overheads of how much it costs to risk wasting a few pieces in comparison to the profit he makes is common sense. He's obviously too keen to be out of the door at the end of the day. My advice is, if it's closing within the hour, don't waste your time. There's a lot of other reviews on here stating the same problem when they simply don't have...
Read moreSimilar to another review I visited on Tuesday. The order take machine crashed on order. The money was showing as coming out of my bank. The manager (apparently) refused to give me my food saying that the payment was pending (like every payment does on a banking app). I showed her my bank account with other payments the same but she still flatly refused to give me my food I paid for. She spoke to me like I was thick which also did not help. As she turned her back on me and walked away one of her staff members did try to speak to me but to unfortunately say the same thing. However he was polite, respectful and the reason for the two stars otherwise it would have been one- you have a great employee there. He did not need to step in when his manager could not manage but took it upon himself to do so. Today the payment is cleared as out of my bank. Other posters have posted similar and have been unable to get their money back. I could not do this via the website but managed to with kfc help on Twitter. Hope this helps anyone else who gets robbed...
