Pickering Park in Hull is celebrated for its serene environment, diverse recreational opportunities, and strong community engagement. The park's expansive green spaces, tranquil ponds, and well-maintained gardens offer a peaceful escape for visitors seeking relaxation and nature appreciation. Its array of amenities, such as playgrounds, sports facilities, and walking paths, cater to various interests and age groups, making it a popular destination for families and individuals alike. Moreover, Pickering Park's role as a community hub is highlighted by events, gatherings, and local initiatives that foster a sense of belonging and unity among residents. Not far away from the Costello/Peter Pan Park, 2 large open air spaces both used extensively. But Pickering Park now has a new attraction, the refurbished aviary has new additions, meerkats. I have never seen such animals before except on the tv but the sight of these creatures just sat on their hind legs is something different. The rest of the park has the usual children's play area and fields for sports, and at one time a paddling area, I'm not sure if this is still in use. Toilets are available, but the difference with this park is that it is not enclosed by a fence, ornate gates at one end but bordering Pickering Road is all open. Thankfully the new aviary is fully enclosed and it is worth a visit to see these creatures. Not sure if Sergi is amongst them but pay a...

Nice Park and great for the young ones. Plenty to play on for all ages. Looks a bit scruffy near the containers at the South side of the lake, tempory barriers also not helping. Too many geese as well especially in late spring. Impossible to walk anywhere without getting goose poop all over your shoes. Welcome upgrades to the paths this year so its now possible to walk round the lake in winter. Wardens etc do a good job in keeping the park tidy, a position I believe is voluntary so thank you to you all. The aviary is lovely too, despite my grandaughter been terrified of the 'porky pine' (porcupine) we could watch the...

Thought this would be a great place to take the grandchildren out for a walk, unfortunately as we arrived it started raining, we still had a walk around, the slides and swings looked good and safe, there's plenty of green space and quite surprised how big the lake was and how many people were fishing around the lake, plenty of geese and ducks to feed, pity was the bird avery was closed for refurbishment, there are public toilets, a place we will visit again hopefully in sunnier times.
