Lovely beach. A short steep walk down, with steps and a railing which will make us inclined to come again. So depending on mobility this may be an issue but our party have this issue and we made it down nicely! Not too windy although lots of people had wind breakers so not sure if it usually is. Nearby shops and bars. Quite a bit of parking although we parked about 5 minute walk away (£6 for all day in the road and car park). Rocks to look in rock pools. Nice and calm to swim on floats. Check tide times before going as most of beach shows signs of high waves and water pools . Very beautiful nature created art work in rocks and caves . Great for any artist or creative writers. Read moreA beautiful beach with good parking facilities. You need to arrive early to get a top spot. Parking is £6 for 24 hours which is a bit of a bargain for camper vans and small motor homes. There are public toilets down towards the village and a couple of good cafe's. When parked up you can see Whitby Abbey in the distance.
