Embark on a journey through the West Highland Way, a 96-mile long distance trail in Scotland that offers breathtaking views of rugged mountains, tranquil lochs, and lush green valleys. As you hike through the picturesque landscapes, you'll encounter charming villages where you can rest and refuel with hearty Scottish cuisine. Be prepared to be mesmerized by the beauty of iconic landmarks such as Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the British Isles, and the enchanting Loch Lomond. Whether you're an experienced hiker or a nature enthusiast, the West Highland Way promises an unforgettable adventure amidst some of the most stunning scenery in the world.

Lovely place, back of beyond with no cell service. The road to the location is well maintained so it's an easy drive. Parking is available but very limited so you have to arrive early or wait for someone to leave. The walk up to Steall waterfalls is dangerous and not be attempted unless you are fully fit. But if you do, the scenic beauty is well worth the walk. You cross babbling brooks and rocky nooks, some areas are steep and tricky to get across.

The original End of the West Highland Way. I did this walk in May but missed the End. Never-mined, here now to claim my spot. Coming back this way by train it was interesting to go past areas that I had walked and people were on. It looked great, it very hot today. Rather them than me! I’m now off to do the Skye Trail. See ya!

Done the west highland way in 5 days in September 2022, you'll meet people and most likely to make friends along the trail. Just remember to bring some Scottish lynx with you for those flying pests, good footwear, carry a bit of water between the bridge of orchy to kings house and then between kings house to kinlochleven to fort William , don't carry what is unnecessary and don't push yourself too hard, pace yourself, work out the miles for each day and you'll be fine One more tip, 2 months before your trip, hike 12 miles in your local area whilst carrying the kit you will be taking with you, plenty of time to do a kit review every time you hike, what works and what doesn't, i...

A very good pair of walking boots are essential, warm and water proof clothing also essential. Set off early in the morning 7 - 8:30ish. Try and go with dry weather. The views are spectacular, so take a camera and mobile phone. Carry a one man tent, in case of emergencies, and a first aid kit. Take water and light snacks. It gets very wet and bitterly cold at the top, so be prepared. Although people did take their dogs, I wouldn't recommend it,, some of the footings can be a bit treacherous for little paws, and there are falling dangers...
