A group of 8 of us went in before we got on the Harry Potter Jacobite steam train dressed in cosplay. They took orders of some of us but refused to acknowledge and take the orders for the last two of us, no idea why. After the first four got served they asked nicely the two older women if we could get our order in and get served because we were all together and going on the train. Still they refused to acknowledge the two of us,(except for nasty stares/stink eye) take our order or serve us. But they did take the order of the next 10 or so people after us while continuing to act like we didn't exist. This was very unprofessional, uncalled for and just plain cruel and mean. In case it was an accident (which I severely doubt it because while dressed in cosplay we really stand out in a crowd) it was very politely called to their attention, and yet they still avoided correcting their mistake/acknowledging us/taking a food order/conducting a business transaction in a place of business and continued carrying out refusal of any interaction except for the nasty stares. I cried a lot and went to the lobby area and the nice lady in the gift shop was a very nice, had muffins and coffee and she took my order and fed me. No problems with anyone else in the town of Fort William serving us in Harry Potter cosplay, or on the Jacobite steam train, or in Malaig. Every business we went to,except for Lochaber Cafe, was more than welcoming and very pleased that we stopped in.

Had the vegetarian fried breakfast. Although the menu lists what that consists of, mine had more than I expected. The photo doesn't do it justice as some things are hidden by other items, but I had: a fried egg, one slice of fried bread, one slice of toast, two potato croquettes, a hash brown, a potato scone, mushrooms and baked beans. I couldn't fault the cooked breakfast and that set me up for the day. The only thing that let it down for me was the latte was about lukewarm. There's a large [cold] surface area to volume ratio for the mug, and if the coffee isn't that hot to start with, putting it in a cold mug isn't a winning formula. That aside, I liked the cafe and the food and I'd certainly go there again when I'm next in the area.

Lovely little café situated within the train station. We were staying locally in self-catering accommodation, and wanted a substantial breakfast prior to climbing Ben Nevis. After reading reviews we decided to eat here. Not a lot of vegetarian options, but you’re sure to find something suitable; I had the breakfast roll with potato scone & egg. Service was quick, the food was good, and the coffee wasn’t bad either! The staff were really lovely too. I also picked up some snacks for the climb from here, and I can honestly say that their cheese and pickle roll at the top of Ben Nevis was the best I’ve ever had!

I love the Lochaber Café. Everyone's so friendly, and the service is really quick.

I usually go for the Breakfast Roll, but all the breakfasts are great and served hot, unlike many caffs. Eggs and bacon were served well cooked and to [everyone's different] tastes.

Most other dishes I've tried are good too. Coffee's excellent, never bitter so you know it's made properly and the machines are kept clean.

Good selection of sweet treats, but I can rarely see past the Raspberry Coconut Cake.

In a town where poorer and more expensive eateries come and go at a dismaying rate, the Lochaber Café is a constant and...
