Purchased tickets in advance saved £2 per wristband. Rides were great, entry was quick, minimal queues on the rides (26 May 24) however the weather was not great this weekend and despite heavy rain first thing, it was sunny and a lovely day, then around 4pm the heavens opened up and my girls got drenched on a ride they were already on. They still had a great time but we’re cold to core as drenched through (quick heavy rainfall and hailstones for the duration of the ride). Not a problem, just needed to get a taxi to get us home quickly. We’re from London so no clue on where to get taxi from. Tried Uber but no drivers. Asked at the pleasure beach box office where I could get a taxi. I was told “I don’t know” then he turned back around on his chair, no asking of colleagues, nothing, literally he could not be bothered to even point me left or right of where we were. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from someone front of house at a tourist attraction. When I walked away he was talking about me to his colleagues! The cold was now cutting through all of us while this worker was too inconvenienced to assist or even give me a number to call. Nothing. I was flabbergasted. Never experienced such lack of assistance. This ruined our day as it took us 30 mins to try locate a taxi! There were none outside of the pleasure beach and no assistance where to find one. Finally called Albie’s taxis who collected us within 5 mins. Note to pleasure beach, I think you need to train your staff on better customer service. We spent £60 to enter this park. Asking for a taxi firm from someone who would be local (ish) or his colleagues would be, to offer no assistance and leave us standing trying to work out where to go was...
Read moreWe visited here on a Wednesday evening, for the late opening hours, in late July and arrived at half five, meaning we could take advantage of the late evening wristband pricing (£17 for 5 until 9:30). There are also fun cards at £5 or £10 which offer 5 or 10 ride credits and can be topped up inside the park. However suspect the latter are a false economy if you have more than 2 or 3 rides - especially in the evening, as most main rides are 4 or 5 credits. There was a fair size of queue to the ticket booth but it moved quickly and probably only took 5 to 10 minutes to get to the entrance.
There is a good range of flat rides and four coasters, with all costers being aimed at family-friendly. The wooden roller coaster is the oldest in the UK and has a brake man riding on the train. While not the smoothest or comfiest ride, it is good to ride a bit of history. The remaining three are Family Star, a short spinning wild mouse and two small kiddy coasters. The flat rides are good variety, with spinning and drops and also a gyro swing.
What struck us was that the park was relatively quiet for school holiday season and queues were short. The ride throughput would be increased further if the very slow wristband scanning was not performed - not really sure why this is needed as takes a got 10 seconds to read each one, based on our experience.
Food offerings are OK - there is a large hot food stall that does hotdogs (not so good), burgers (better) and loaded fries (decent) amongst other offerings.
All in all, worth a visit even in peak summer as really never felt busy and plenty of ride...
Read moreI went here on a thursday from around 1pm to 4pm, during a school week. There was a small wait in line to collect wristbands from the main entrance, though once we got them and went in there was virtually little to no queues for the attractions. I started off the day with their wooden rollercoaster, which I would reccomend to anyone, from rollercoaster enthusiasts to newbies - I got in immediately and absolutely loved it, I went on 7 times within the day.
The twister and Waltzers were virtually empty and were a fan favourite within the group, there was little need for any waiting in line as maybe at most 6 people were waiting to get on, just a quick warning for the twister ~ If you have two people in the same seating area. The larger person will most likely be pushed into the side of the seat by the smaller person if they can't hold on properly to the rides bars, though it shouldn't leave long lasting pain, this isn't pleasure beaches fault it's just the rides forces acting upon you.
The same situation happened for all the rides the group went on throughout the day. There was very little waiting and we could get on a ride within 5 minutes. I highly reccomend the family star if you like waltzers and rollercoasters.
PLEASE NOTE : I'd reccomend buying a wristband, it has unlimited credits until you take it off. It's worth the price as the amount of credits I would have used on a fun card would have most likely been more expensive to buy than just buying a wristband, so if you're playing to explore the park and go on as many rides as possible, buy...
