Very easy to access on sticks but unaccessible in a chair unless you have sand wheels.

There is a car park across the road from the beach but traffic can be pretty swift making crossing the road pretty hazardous due to blind bends. I park on the double yellow lines by the beach off season, and display my blue badge allowing 3hrs parking, this will not be possible between May 1st and September.

The cafe opened in March for the season and has amazing views. The toilets are still closed as of mid April and the views vary from mysterious and spooky to stunning sunshine depending on the weather.

The tide comes in faster than I can walk (after the slog down the sand on sticks) so I recommend checking the tide times or downloading the app if you are a slow and steady kind of Wobbly Wanderer, otherwise this is a lovely beach with small dune like area, gorse, rocks, sand, pebbles, a freshwater stream and a waterfall on the cliffs all in an area roughly 200m from car park...

Poldhu Cove is typical of many beaches on the Lizard Peninsula with rugged cliffs on either side of a large sandy and shingle beach. For your safety and peace of mind RNLI lifeguards patrol the beach from May to September.

Suitable for swimming, surfing and paddle boarding the beach is enjoyed by those of all ages all year round. When the tides out there are rock pools, mainly on the right hand side of the beach, to explore 🦀

Just to let you know that dogs are welcome on the beach except between 1st July - 31st August (10am to 6pm).

In addition to the spacious car park (Pay & Display) and toilets there’s the very popular Poldhu Cafe, which is open 363 days of the year, and last but not least the Dan Joel Surf...

Great little beach which has sandy areas, pebbly areas, gritty areas and rocky areas. For the most part, the sandy part is where the tide comes in, so nice beneath your feet when swimming. There are a fair few jellyfish, but the life guards assured me that their stings are no worse than nettles... I took my chances and came out unscathed. Café is pretty good with a range of coffee, tea, soft drinks, beers, cakes and more. The final thing to mention is that the car park appears to be National Trust when looking at maps, but it isn't and is actually run by the council and is...

Lovely spot that’s little changed from when I visited as a child almost 60 years ago. The public toilets are currently closed, but several ‘portaloos’ have been installed in the nearby car park. There’s a beachside cafe for snacks and drinks and lifeguards were present when we visited. Some parts of the beach can become cut off as the tide rises, so be careful where you sit, otherwise just enjoy this unspoilt area.

Beautiful cove that is good for surfing and bodyboarding. Great cafe and easy access. Parking is close to the beach (you may need coins for car park payment if the machine is actually working).
