Bushey Rose Garden — Attraction in Hertsmere

I have been to the Rose Garden many times over the years and everytime I sit and visit I find it to be a tranquil quiet place and all the work that has been done to it has enhanced it more. Amazingly even though it is just off a busy road when you step through the gate and walk a few yards you are hit by the quietness. It is mainly used by the people who live in the area. There is a notice board of events that take place there. There is plenty of seating for people to stop and look at the nature that is around them. All in all well...

Only trouble is the gate locking up is too early in certain months (four pm in late March, three hours before the light goes)and unreliable so that when you have walked the long way round on the road you realise you could have walked through after all because the gates have been left open. A centre tranquility and beauty in the midst of the lovely Bushey. Maintained really carefully and kept tidy. Lots of places to admire and keep your attention. Would make a lovely spot for a sandwich at lunch and quiet reflection. A shame the bins were jot used properly, overflowed and rubbish was outside on the path.
