Wide open spaces, a lovely pond with ducks (far too many seagulls though!), swans and coots. The wizard walk is fun but make sure you wear good shoes, not sandals or flip flops! Lots of places throughout the park to sit and watch the world go by. The circular walk around the fountain is a nice place to sit and is clearly where folks go to meet each other, I spent an interesting hour people watching there! The 'Peace Garden' and rose garden were quiet so that was good although it has been busy, and noisy, (can you hear me 'tutting'!) when I've visited previously. Some play areas for children, a real shame that the train no longer runs, although all the track is still there so maybe it will return. A pity there is no cafe as that would make a bomb (once the politicians decide how I can live my life safely when out and about, grr!!) although given that the saddest thing of all was the rubbish, it's perhaps just as well there is nowhere selling more disposable rubbish!!

Further notes, I've been back a few times to the park and enjoyed exploring it further, even having a lovely conversation with some regulars - very socially distanced conversations of course! Yesterday, 16 Nov, it was quite bright so a Beveridge Park perimeter walk was called for. Spoke to lovely lady who has a dog with dementia, they were a great addition to the morning. Sadly I saw that one of the Cygnets has managed to get snared by a fishing hook, with an attached lure and fishing line around it's neck. Now I know fishing is a fun and popular sport but, to all fishers, please do recover hooks, line and lures when you've finished. Here's some photos of the day to show what's there in November!

Another couple of walks during the latest lockdown and lots more to see. The first set of pics I put up was during the last weekend of the snow and ice. It made the park seem different in a nice way. Lovely to note families playing with youngsters in in the snow and on sledges. A shame to see that the vacuous proliferate even in lockdown as lots of debris was sitting on the ice. The second visit, yesterday (Sun) it was bathed in sunshine and I discovered that parts of the Wizards Walk now have a much better surface to walk upon, well done for doing that. Also, a small amount of work has been done in the rose garden which bodes well. I did think that it was a real shame the council spent money on the wild area but clearly did not think through the necessary maintenance for such a project. Now the 'marsh' area is closed (and has been for months) owing to weather damaged wood work. Who would have thought wet weather, rain and frost, as well as the vacuous mentioned earlier, would damage such a walkway? Me for one!

Anyway, I also noted a van selling take away Japanese street food which smelled delicious, at least the food did - I'm not sure about the van. I hope that the large crowds around such a venue, all without masks and about two feet apart (tut, tut) enjoyed the offerings. Hopefully no debris from those sales is left on the ground, oh no I'm becoming 'Meldrewesque'!! However, having the van there, and being as popular as it was, makes one think about a demand for refreshments. Council, will you please see the money making opportunity for such an option in the park once again. At least once the politburo allows us comrades some freedom that is.

All in all a good walk and one I'm looking to do...

The car park is fairly big, but with the rugby club being part of the park and the football ground just along from it, it might be difficult getting parked if there is a home game on. The play park is separated into age limits but they're both quite small and if the park gets busy you may have to wait. The exercise area was busy when we visited but there plenty of equipment to use. The Wizards Walk was a short but pleasant walk but was muddy and slippy in places. The mill dam path you will need wellies or walking boots as it's very muddy. There is an ice cream van beside the play park but didn't see anywhere to get hot food. There is plenty of picnic tables darted all...

Beveridge Park is my most favourite place in Kirkcaldy. It has so many beautiful spots, space for various types of sports and activities, a pond, foresty areas, wild life, a fountain, boats in the summer and occasionallyyou can see a mini train. I have been walking in Beveridge Park for years now and I could never get bored of it. Beautiful foresty park.
