A Hidden Gem Next to the Hustle and Bustle of City Life Nestled just a stone's throw away from the bustling noise of Leeds and Bradford Airport, Yeadon Tarn is a delightful escape for nature lovers and families seeking a small peaceful retreat. This enchanting body of water serves as a refreshing reminder that tranquillity and beauty can coexist alongside the hectic tones of modern life. Visitors are immediately captivated by the serene landscape that envelops the tarn. The gentle lapping of water against the banks harmonises with the occasional rustle of leaves, providing a soothing backdrop truly emblematic of a hidden wildlife haven. The tarn is rich in biodiversity, attracting a wide array of birds and other wildlife, making it a perfect spot for birdwatching enthusiasts. Whether you're an amateur photographer or an avid nature lover, the opportunities to capture the local fauna in their habitats are plentiful. For families, Yeadon Tarn offers a variety of activities that cater to both adults and children. The well-maintained footpaths around the water encourage leisurely strolls, cycling, or even jogging, providing a refreshing alternative to more urban environments. Kids can often be seen laughing and playing on the grassy areas or enjoying a picnic while parents can relax, soaking in the peacefulness that envelops the tarn. This park is its abundance of recreational facilities and is mainly flat, The small playground nearby is a hit with families, while the open grassy spaces are perfect for flying kites or playing games. For those looking to take to the water, boating options can be found, adding a fun dynamic to your visit. Visiting Yeadon Tarn is a wonderfully accessible outing and has 2 car parks to make life simple, as well as it’s conveniently located just a short drive from Leeds or Bradford centres, yet feels worlds away from any travel chaos. The juxtaposition of lively air traffic and tranquil nature is fascinating; it's easy to forget how close you are to the hustle and bustle of city life. Whether you're looking for a quiet afternoon in a picturesque setting, a fun day out with family, or a moment to reconnect with wildlife, Just jump in your car and take a short drive down.

The 1st time I came here would have been in1960 fishing with a friend, the tarn had plenty of good sized fish some big carp, roach and breem as well as the smaller gudgeon and sticlebacks, as for the tarn itself not really changed that much there's plenty of wildlife here, birds and small mammals, as for size of the tarn it takes approximately 35/40 minutes to walk around it, parking is available inside the park, all in all quite a pleasant afternoon.

Great place for a walk, nice circuit around the lake. Ground is very flat and even so good for skating as well. Lots of fishing spots, close to Yeadon itself. Has parking at the top end, and there is also a fair amount of street parking nearby. Can see and the planes taking off rumbling along the back of the park which is cool as well.

Living locally this area is definitely worth the visit . It’s like a bit of countryside on the North West of the city of Leeds .Its available 7 days a week right through the year . No matter how many times you come here it’s always different . Of course being local has great advantages to be able to visit in all four seasons . The distance around the tarn is just over .7 mile and the footpath access is easily accessible for everyone , young and old , pushchairs and wheelchairs NB bicycles are frowned upon . However there is a BMX track next to the car park via cemetery road . There are two car parks and the other one is found at the high street just past the fish and chip shop . There is also a boat yard and a children’s play park . The public 🚾 toilets are there too and the disabled toilet facilities require you to have a radar key 🔑. The park also has a band stand and plenty of open space . Time slows down here , and you can meander around the lake at your leisure . There are ample seats to rest on or just to take in the view . There is an abundance of water based birds and also a model boat club . You May wish to watch the boats or even the aircraft coming and going from the nearby airport .There is no charge for car parking . But be advised not to leave things in plain view in your car . As I said before the circular footpath is all flat , wide and level and there are several other footpaths that link...

It used to be the best place to relax and enjoy the take off of planes from Leeds and Bradford Airport but now because of Covid not much planes to spot but still it's a beautiful place to visit. Feed ducks and hire boat etc. Well kept and nice clean park kids love it whenever we go there. Free off street parking and play area for kids and trail around the water is amazing with lots of banches and some sitting area to enjoy drinks and spot planes landing and take off. I saw them rowing boats kept in one side may be they organise rowing classes or professionals practice...
