This place ought to come with a health warning Absolutely disgusting food and complacent staff who don't care what Is produced or served Being a person on chemotherapy I take my eating out experience cautiously On arrival we were met with a very empty pub with lots of empty tables Maybe that was the warning shot, We picked simple food What could possibly go wrong A baked potato with Tuna and sweetcorn mayonnaise side salad And a Swan burger with extra bacon Well I was not long to being disappointed My baked potato arrived with very little filling and what was there had all being grilled Hot Tuna and cheese🤮 add to that a salad with no dressing but lots of slimy black mould on it 🤢 The burger was terrible chewie on a very very soggy bun with bacon you could sole your shoe with My poor other half couldn't eat his chips as he put the most disgusting condiment that was said to be vinegar and ought to get the place shut down It was filthy and left a very bad taste on his chips I tried to tell the staff who wasn't intrested to hear my complaints at all What a waste of £46 our time and this place needs a very good old food standard agency visit in my opinion
Despite the owners warped version of events Note no mention of us coming in via rear entrance, And husband using the vinegar off the other table as ours had filth in the bottle clearly seen on the video And yes it was disgusting, Not a mention of cold fillings going to be heated up on the menu (or i would certainly NOT! Have ordered that nor have I ever seen a place offer it hot or cold as a choice before , and yes it tasted vile as why it was left and if you can't see the mould on the salad my goodness I suggest you use that rocket science and trot off to get the eyes tested (Just a tip) And re not approaching the staff not only did no one do a check back on the table (review your video of that ) And the fact as we were leaving by the rear entrance i tried to mention it then to the two young fellas larking about in that side But they weren't intrested to hear anything other than what was on each others phones 🙄 If that's how you run your business then people need the full facts And your sarcasm in your reply I'd say goes to the revelant standard of the place as a...
Read moreI went for a walk around Yeadon Tarn with my ex-husband and our two daughters (4 and 6) and we decided to have food afterwards. One of the girls pointed to the White Swan, and I told my ex to check that children would be allowed in early evening on a Saturday night. The staff said it was fine and served us drinks, and then we asked if they were still serving food and they said they were but we'd need to order soon.
I was hesitant to go in initially because I'm not actually that keen on trying places I've never been before, especially without recommendations, but it was absolutely delicious food and so nicely presented! The staff were very friendly too - the man joked about my eldest not eating all her peas so she wouldn't be allowed pudding! Thankfully she listens to other people - just not to us...
The girls both had a children's portion of fish and chips, my ex had the veggie burger and I had the lamb shank with sweet potato mash and vegetables. We also shared a camembert starter, and finished off with puddings - I had the cheesecake (tropical lime today, I think), my ex had the apple and blueberry crumble (another that changes, so check what it is), my eldest had a brownie and the youngest had ice cream. The bill came to just over £60, which was very reasonable considering the quality of the food. I didn't manage to get pictures of everything because they were too eager to get stuck in, but the pics I have included give you an idea of what you can expect.
Definitely a place I'd like to visit again sometime! And I'm sure my eldest will enjoy playing along with the Countdown-style conundrums on the television again (she even got one right!). Absolutely recommend - one of the most enjoyable meals I've had in months, and I eat out quite frequently, so that's really...
Read moreWe booked for a family get together as my brother was over from Canada. We had a buffet as we thought this would be best. When we arrived we were on the little stage area that wasn't big enough for us all and we were very cramped. When the food came it was just randomly put on people's tables due to the lack of space. The food was not worth what we paid per head. My Sister went to the bar to ask to speak to someone as we were not satified and was told that someone would come to speak to her, which they didn't. We had some vegetarians with us and I had asked in advance if some of the quiches could be veggie and if they could put some extra cheese sandwiches on instead of meat for said veggies. That didn't happen, in fact the quiche never happened, we got chicken strips instead but not enough and obviously these were no good for the veggies. I sent an e mail after ( as people went home hungry) about the problems and was basically told that after speaking to the staff there was excessive food left ( the only excess was the pork pies because there was a mountain of them served up to compensate for veg quiches and they were not very good anyway) and was told We should have said something on the day and as there were two chefs on if we had mentioned the veggie options something would have been done, we did try to sort it on the day, I had asked weeks in advance about the veggie options and I'm sorry but I can make quiche so surely chefs can. It's not like we dropped in unexpected. She basically called us liars and the customer service after was diabolical. At the swan the customer is only right when saying something good about them ( as i found out when reading other reviews) Very rude and no one from our party will...
