Biased, maybe after living in the village all my life. But I can honestly say this village and beach if you want a quiet laid back time with your family for a couple of days this place is for you.One of the top 3 places for sure. Don't forget your bucket & spade . park your car in the Free car park in the centre of the village behind the village hall, the beach is only 150 mtrs from there through the Maine street . There is a car park down by the beach but in the Summer holidays they do like to cram the cars in like "Sardines" so if you value the paint on your car the bigger FREE car park in the village is your best option.    Read moreStayed in this location for an evening, purely as a day away. The bay was lovely and plenty of open space to walk along headland by the coast. Great open feeling, and plenty of fresh air. View slightly obscured or should I say dominated by factory that quite dominates the skyline.
As for places to eat, very limited. And shall we say slightly restricted. Realise we visited out of season. Chip shop closed, and alternative was harbour hotel, not an ideal experience for eating or a stay. Ended up in gadlis hotel overlooking bay. Food great and very good staff as well...

Lovely family Beach, very sandy during low tide. Safe for children to swim under adult supervision when tide is on way back in. Disabled friendly path from car park along the prom top of beach. Nice takeaway cafe other end of beach & Gadlys Gastro Pub top of road. Lovely place to visit early morning / late afternoon when less people on beach.
