Awful customer service and staff, like a Little Britain sketch.

We were in Llandudno for a week and knew the cable car is often closed for winds, as it was for most of our stay.

On the final morning we thought we’d give it a try as it was sunny and there was only a light breeze. We drove up to the summit for the advertised opening time of 10 am.

I decided to make sure it was definitely open so left the family in the car and went up and asked one of the male operators, a white haired man seated in a deckchair beside the departure platform, “is it definitely running today, it’s a little bit windy”. “Oh yes, it’s running, we’ll be opening at this end in about 10 minutes”.

So at this I went back and paid for couple of hours parking on the car and relayed the good news to my wife and two young daughters.

We went back up and queued at the entry gate.

A couple of minutes later a hefty, heavily made up creature with the most ridiculous fake eyelashes and panda mascara that I’ve ever seen, appeared at the ticket window and rudely snapped at us “it’s not running, it’s too windy”.

I explained that only moments before her colleague had told us it was running and was about to open.

The tone of the reply was even more offensive and impatient “It’s not running, it’s too windy”.

Annoyed at the appalling attitude , I again repeated that her colleague had told us differently moments earlier.

An eye roll and an even louder “it’s not running it’s too windy”.

I can only assume this is a family run business and this bloated gorgon is employed by default, as I cannot imagine her having any other qualifications for the role...

Problem V VIKTOR Vecher кому: webmaster 1 час назадПодробнее... Good afternoon! I am from Ukraine, yesterday I used your cable car. Firstly, I stood in line for 1.5 hours, climbed up, I thought that I could immediately go down. It turned out that there is a second line. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time with a 3-year-old child. .the bus was at 16.00, we were brought by a sightseeing bus from Birkenhead. I explained the situation in the queue, I went to the cashier and told her the situation that I was late. Of course, this is in broken English, she understood me perfectly, but she started yelling that everyone needs it and she won’t let me in out of turn. .I thought that perhaps she did not understand the deplorable situation and wrote a text on the phone, she answered me aggressively again. I asked her to talk to our manager who organized the tour, she refused. .when I decided to pass the turkenet, she ran out of the office and started yelling at the whole line that I would not pass. She scared my child, people in line were horrified... No respect for customers, I asked if I could talk to the manager, she said no. .I ended up on a mountain with no idea how to get out of there. I left there, so my baby started crying. Downstairs, near the tram stop, people called me a taxi. I'm lucky. I don't have a photo of this worker, these are the last things I thought of. If you have cameras you can watch them. .I was at the cashier at about 3:30. My impression of a beautiful city is spoiled by your aggressive employee. There are different situations, you need to be treated with understanding,...

🚨 Terrible Experience – Not Worth It 🚨

Queue Time

I waited over 2 hours in the queue just to get on. If I had known it would take that long, I would never have bothered.

The Ride Itself

The views were nice, but the ride lasted only 3–5 minutes, absolutely not worth the wait. On top of that, the ride made worrying noises, and a sticker warning that “emergency stops can happen” did nothing to reassure me about safety.

Hidden Return Queue

What really made me angry was the return trip. Once you get to the other side, you are forced to queue again to come back!! but this was never mentioned anywhere on their signs. We only had 30 minutes before the station closed, and their rules basically say if you miss it, it’s your problem to get back.

Forced to Walk Back

Because the return line was so long and we didn’t want to risk being stranded, we had to walk 30 minutes back to the pier. And. The worst part? At 7:15 pm, I looked up and saw the station was still running!

Their misinformation completely ruined the experience…….

Overall • Ridiculous wait times • Misleading and unclear signs • Poor customer care • Not worth the price or the stress

The views do not make up for the frustration. Unless they fix their queue system and provide honest information, I strongly do not recommend this attraction.

Whoever is the company responsible for this attraction…. Under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008 (CPRs), businesses must not mislead customers through false information or by omitting...

The views were amazing i will say that firstly! However the queue at the summit was over an hour to get on, fine but then if you have bought a return ticket like myself and my partner did, instead of simply staying on the car to return back up (to where our car was) you have to get off and join yet another massive queue! 🙄 if there were signage stating this, we wouldn't have bothered! I personally have chronic pain conditions and standing about in queues isn't ideal, and it's just a waste of Time when you could be doing better things. We instead chose to try and make the most of the views and walk back up. This was a bit much for me and I had to wait In the churchyard for my partner to come down with the car. Pricing is odd £12:00 for an adult single and £12:50 for a return, cash only, and there is only one sign stating this, which Is near the ticket office, so if you've queued up for an hour and only have card you can't ride, which is what happened to a gentleman infront! There is only 2 adults per car also, there was a family of 3 infront of us 2 parents and their child, one of the parents had to ride alone in the car behind! All in all, the view is amazing yes! But I wouldn't recommend this cable car experience and won't be doing it again.

We visited Llandudno for the day whilst on holiday in Rhyl, and we knew the cable cars were something we wanted to do. Be prepared for a bit of a steep uphill walk to the Happy Valley station (dreadful in the 27° heat!). Once there, the tickets can only be paid for in cash, which we were prepared for as we’d checked the website ahead of time. We were quickly onboarded onto a car, and set off on the 9 minute journey up to the summit. The views were incredible and absolutely breathtaking. You can see for miles across the whole of Llandudno and the sea, and then over the other side to the mountain. Once at the top, there’s an adventure mini golf, a gift shop and cafe, toilets, and lots of places to sit and take in the views. There’s also a large car park if you’d prefer to drive up to the summit, where you’ll incur a small £2.50 toll free. Whilst this was a fantastic experience, I’d say the cost of the return ticket is far far too high. £14.00 pp for an 18 min all-in journey. There’s not enough to do at the summit to warrant a longer trip up there, which would make it better value for money. I’d go again, but only by car.

Note: They only accept cash for tickets We took a ride on the cable car from the bottom to the Summit. It was very busy and they were only letting 2 adults on each cable car. There was a sign saying this was due to high winds/crosswinds. At the bottom it also said the last return trip was at 2pm, but whilst in the long queue to come back we heard that it would probably be open until 5:30pm. Be prepared to queue for a long time, there are no indicators of how long you may be waiting. The cable cars are quite smooth and views of the surrounding area are good. Note the videos I have included are time lapsed just to show a bit more of the journey. It is possible to walk back or catch the tram back to do some of the journey to the bottom. There was also a sightseeing bus in the car park at the summit. It was a bit hazy on the day we visited but you could still make out Anglesey from the Summit. At the Summit there is a gift shop, cafe and bar. We parked at the Ski centre ( £2 for 6hours ) and walked down the fairly steep hill to the cable car station.
