Visited Llandudno as part of a shearings coach holiday. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised to find venue cymru was the base for the top flight rally contenders in the wrc rally Wales. We didn't go out on the shearings trip for Thursday 3rd October but instead went to venue cymru. Wow I am so glad we did. We managed to see a lot of the top rally drivers, eg, esapekka lappi, ott tanak, Thierry neuville, Chris breen, Jan Mari latvala, Haydon paddon, Sebastian ogier. It was also great to see petter and Oliver solberg. When the cars set off from their service garages we were in a perfect place within metres of the final scrutineers (who caused a traffic jam of rally cars) see attached photos! What a day, my wife and I are over the moon at being so close to the start of the action!

Well worth a visit! Our first visit to Venue Cymru was mixed. On one hand the venue was impressive, staff friendly and helpful and the show, " Crazy for You" was excellent. On the flip side, be warned, the seating in the theatre wasn't comfortable. Anyone person 6 foot plus may well find the seats in front of them, a painful experience. Added to the lack of knee room, it's impossible to move ones feet forward, under the seats in front. Solution? There are seats at the front where this isn't an issue; make sure you get one of those. For us, the staff were very understanding and we were able to move at the interval to more comfortable seats; thank you!

I went to see Peppa Pig's Big Day Out with my toddler. Had allocated seats in row H by the door, and there was a cold draught throughout the performance. Lots of people came in late, were using phones, and were generally noisy. The performance wasn't loud enough, and I struggled to hear some of the characters. As the theatre was half empty it would have been nice to be able to move seats, as even with a booster seat my daughter was struggling to see when kids stood up on the seats in front of her. She ended up getting bored and wanting to leave.

The Commitments: A Soulful Explosion of Music and Pure Energy!

Review: If you're in the mood for an electrifying musical experience that will have you dancing in your seat, look no further than "The Commitments" at Venue Cymru. This show is a soulful explosion of music and pure energy that will leave you with a smile on your face and a rhythm in your heart.

From the moment the lights dim and the band strikes up their first chord, you're transported to the gritty streets of Dublin in the 1980s. The story follows a group of talented and diverse individuals who come together to form a soul band, determined to bring the music of Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, and Aretha Franklin to life. Prepare to be blown away by their powerhouse vocals, infectious grooves, and impeccable musicianship.

What truly sets "The Commitments" apart is its exceptional cast. Each member brings their unique personality and charisma to the stage, creating a vibrant ensemble that oozes chemistry. From the charismatic frontman to the sassy backing singers, every character shines and adds depth to the narrative. You can't help but root for them as they navigate the challenges of fame, friendship, and the pursuit of their musical dreams.

The energy of the production is palpable. The catchy tunes will have you tapping your feet, clapping your hands, and singing along in no time. The stage comes alive with dynamic choreography, vibrant costumes, and a set design that immerses you in the spirit of the era. It's a visual feast that complements the high-octane performances and keeps you engaged from start to finish.

But beyond the glitz and glamour, "The Commitments" also touches on universal themes of love, passion, and the power of music to bring people together. It's a heartwarming reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the transformative nature of art.

Venue Cymru provides the perfect setting for this exhilarating show. The intimate theater allows for a close connection with the performers, and the acoustics ensure that every note resonates with power and precision. The staff is friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere that enhances the overall experience.

In conclusion, "The Commitments" is a must-see musical that will leave you buzzing with energy and humming the unforgettable tunes long after the final curtain call. Whether you're a fan of soul music or simply seeking a night of pure entertainment, this production delivers in spades. Get ready to groove, laugh, and be moved by the sheer talent on display. Grab your tickets, bring your dancing shoes, and let "The Commitments" transport you to a world where music...

Amazing show but 1 nasty staff member. I surprised my partner with tickets to see six on valentines day at 20:30. All was going good , headed in, a lovely staff member told us where to go and wished us a good time however we decided to head to the bar to grab a drink first. A lady in the bar wore a daisy lanyard. My partner proceeded to order a kopparberg cider and the bar lady starts laughing and says no, and says no again and again. So i asked why not and why was she laughing. And I got a response of no. So my partner grabs her ID out to show her ID because its a regular occurrence that my girlfriend gets ID because she looks young. So the woman grabs the ID and says no again and I ask why , confused, because my girlfriend was born in 2004 and the 18 limit is 2006. And she says this says female on here , and I respond yes and she starts stuttering saying why does it say female. And asks another staff member to come over and confirm this. Another lady comes over has a look on the ID and proceeds to get the drink. Then the lady just bluntly tells us the price of the drinks and take the payment. My partner does not mind getting ID’ at all because she knows she looks young, however all you need to do is politely ask. Not how this lady laughed and mocked, my girlfriend has short hair but the lady didn’t have to say no because its says female, if she was mistaken keep it to yourself and look at the photo, this is a new ID as well therefore the photo is the same to how she looks now. My partner went on through the night pretending it was fine and it didn’t bother her however I am not happy nor impressed by this lady’s unprofessional and just lack in decency behaviour. We didn’t even get a slight apology. Really did dampen the mood of the night and put a bad impression of the place to us. On the other hand , the show was absolutely amazing, and the 2 women in door G that greeted us were so lovely . Was awesome to see as well in the show there was an...

Came here on the 27th march 2025 for the Whitney Houston tribute act as a Mother’s Day present for my mum and the majority of the staff were lovely but when me and my mum went in to the seating are we got spoken to like a piece of dirt by 3 members of staff for no reason one not very good at all especially when I come here all the time and I’m also a vulnerable disabled adult and I have never been so disrespected in my life and neither has my mum and not only that my mum got up to dance like everyone else and that’s when a young member of staff spoke to us again like rubbish and I’m not trying to be funny there is a time and place to speak to people respectfully and not and me and my mum did not do anything wrong and if you are going to work in a place like venue cymru then you need better manners and compassion for everyone and treat everyone the way you want to be treated but the 3 members of staff that were so rude to me and my mum need to either retire or get a new job as if they worked in a pub they wouldn’t of been spoken to like rubbish and not only that they only do a few hours of work a day there but most staff do all day how would they feel if they worked in a pub which is 10x more stressful than working in venue Cymru for a few hours never again would I ever want to come here again even if I love the place or not me and my mum are not there to be spoken to like rubbish or ever want to be spoken or treated like rubbish again in here come on I think there needs to be something to happen such as training on how to speak to paying customers going here...
