North Western Gardens — Attraction in Llandudno

Know to locals as "Bog Island" due to the ornate underground Victorian public toilets located in a former tram stop here. More often than not the toilets display a sign saying "out of order due to flooding!) and they are currently boarded-off and being redeveloped. There is a well-kept patch of lawn, with well stocked flower beds and benches where weary shoppers can rest. An oasis of calm in the retail jungle! Occasionally a very accomplished classical guitarist may be heard, playing restful music whilst seated on one of the benches, and during the annual "Victorian Extravaganza" in May, this whole area is filled with acts including a children's entertainer and a George Formby tribute banjo band. "Bog Island" is bordered by two busy roads and a row of shops, including a very well established Estate Agent, a cafe, a Kitchen shop, a betting shop, an amusement arcade and a furniture shop, to name just a few.
