This is a gallery with an unapologetic approach to current practice in Art. It offers little respite to the uninitiated but the staff a happy and willing to explain the thought behind the exhibitions and the artworks on display. For those comfortable with "modern" art it provides one of the few spaces where such can be seen and appreciated within North Wales and even for those not acquainted with the current artistic trends it will provide a stimulating and thought provoking outing. Read moreI have been coming here for years so I think I know a little bit about contemporary art and because the art I first saw is now not quite so contemporary, a little bit about, what I call late historic-contemporary art. Also I have seen several episodes of that Fiona Bruce programme with that ponce in a cravat so feel well placed to comment.
The gallery itself is as wonderful as ever. A beautiful space. A joyful experience to walk around, with truly inspiring art coupled with works that a small child could knock out between tantrums. The gift shop and cafe areas have matured over the years and add to the overall experience.

The exhibitions are ambitious, interesting and varied, and are usually on a large scale making good use of the gorgeous light and airy gallery spaces. The shop is brilliant too with original art, handmade jewellery, books, cards, gifts, art supplies - I always go in to look for birthday and Christmas presents for friends and family.
