I recently spent a wonderful afternoon at Alexandra Recreation Ground and was pleasantly surprised by all it had to offer. It's a fantastic spot for anyone looking for a dog-friendly park with a mix of activities and natural beauty. Dog-Friendly Paradise: My dog had an absolute blast running around off-leash and socializing with other pups. There's plenty of open space for them to explore and even a designated fenced-in area for smaller or less social dogs. Football Fun: It was great to see the park being used for football training. The pitches looked well-maintained and it added a lively atmosphere to the park. Wildlife Haven: Despite being close to residential areas, the park feels surprisingly wild. It now benefits from new trees and other planting courtesy of the friends of Alexander. We are seeing more benches and more seating is planned. It caters for most ages but some of the equipment is painful to use, for example, there is a "ladder" to climb up, over and back down but it's made of metal chains so it always hurts my niece's hands.
