Eltham Park South is a truly delightful green space. It’s a reasonably sized park that’s perfect for walks, picnics, or just enjoying some fresh air. There are plenty of walkways to explore, and one path lined with cherry blossom trees is especially stunning in the spring.
The park features a well-maintained playground area for kids, making it a great spot for families. For adults, there are also some outdoor gym equipment —perfect if you want to squeeze in a bit of exercise while enjoying the outdoors.
You’ll also find a couple of tennis courts and ping pong tables, and right in the middle, there’s a lovely little café serving snacks, drinks, and ice creams. There are plenty of tables near the café, as well as benches scattered throughout the park, making it easy to sit and relax wherever you like.
One of the best features is how peaceful it is. Even on weekends, it never feels too crowded. And while part of the park runs close to a major road, it’s still easy to find a quiet spot to unwind. It also connects seamlessly with Eltham Park North—just cross the bridge and follow the dirt path for about five minutes.
All in all, Eltham Park South is a beautiful, tranquil place with something for everyone....
Read moreRegular used of the park and through to Park North. The kids love the playground and the roughly 1KM circuit is nice to stretch your legs. It is open to cyclists and walkers and the be respectful to pedestrians is observed well by users.
There are ping pong tables and tennis courts behind the cafe. The cafe is fine to pick up a tea / coffee or ice cream but the food isn’t great. There is a recently opened indoor section which is really useful when we need to feed the baby.
The walk down the far side of the park is nicely tree lined and really cool in the summer. There are often little events / stands and music in the summer. It’s a large space so you can take it or leave it and find somewhere quiet. There is also an outdoor gym.
Generally pleasant place to be and we are lucky to have it on...
Read moreNice big field which is kept nice and a really good children's play park...quite a lot of apparatus but the cafe needs updating. It's great to be able to buy drinks and food, but so much I asked for such as Scones with jam, teacakes they didn't have. The hot dog I ordered for 4 pound came with no onions and no ketchup or mustard. The birds ate it for me as it wasn't nice. The bacon was so dry and hard my family member couldn't chew it. The tea was excellent though and a good choice of lollies. Maybe it would be better sticking to drinks and ices rather than being a poorly run cafe. It needs brightening up too and maybe the lady who serves could smile. That would...
