Fairfield Park is a lovely open, green space for locals, which I enjoy having within 5 min walk from home! Popular with dog-walkers (plenty of bins & very rare to see any dog poop!), and locals wanting to enjoy a bit of green space! There are about 15 benches seating wise and some new stone chess tables & seats installed. There's a few exercise machines & equipment (free) in the park, and you'll often see plenty of walkers & runners doing laps round the park, as well as small exercise classes, cricket & football here too. Very popular spot when the sun's out, plenty of grass (regarly mowed!) to sit/lay & chill on, a good amount of shady spots which are commonly used by families or those with children.
The downfalls of Fairfield in my opinion, is the lack of public toilets here or nearby (Kingston Council need to look into opening certain times of the day or at weekends during Spring & Summer for example please!) The park also needs more benches/ seating & is crying out for some flowers!!! I also think they should have some children's playground equipment - like some spring rockers, a slide & a small roundabout (like Winery Lane's tiny playground!), rather than adding more...
Read moreDisappointing public park, although it has had some work in recent years (perimeter hoggin path, pedestrian gates, pointless signage, relaid narrow central avenue path and adult fitness equipment). But considering it's the principle open space within the town and borough its pavilion remains closed, its cricket square has been removed and the four football pitches whilst marked are in poor state or care, often water logged and uneven. As a royal borough its disappointing cheap bench seats, poor lighting, unwelcoming entrance furniture and noncompliant notice boards, its hardly a showcase and unlike our neighbouring borough open spaces and Royal Parks of Richmond, Bushy and...
Read moreBeautifully dressed park as always, the horticulture work done here is superb. It's got running track for joggers, open gym fitness equipment, gymnastics as well as 4 full sized football spaces (recently added). This park is made keeping both fitness enthusiasts and peace seekers in mind, usually chirpy (especially during weekends). If you're looking to escape into nature meditation or looking for spaces free from crowd, try Hampton Court, about 10-12 mins walk from here. Like the comment if found...
