If there was a way that I could give less than a star I would. Staff are very rude and miserable and don’t want to help all they do is go on there phones and talk to each other. The pool is very dirty and especially where you get changed it is disgusting piss on the floor hair on the floor and in some cases poo on the floor. I told a staff member to do something about that but all I got was "ok" and know one came to do anything. Also I went to the gym and weights were everywhere staff members can see that there are weights there and they do nothing about it they just leave it and walk past. One of the staff members she’s black short and old she told me to put the weights away!!! I’m not getting paid to do your job you will do it not me. I’m 14 and I’m always using the weights I put them back and 2 of the staff members said to me that I’m not allowed to do the free weight but the manager said I am allowed to use the free weights. what is this! And this woman is always rude and miserable and tries to butt into me training, worse of all on the 15th of October 2016 a man tall black said to me that I’m not allowed to do the 20 kg weights I said why he said because your under 16 I said to him the manager said I could he said who is the manager. My mate said "so you don’t know who is your manager" and he said he does not know who he is. I was amazed. Then he said to me that I was rude to him I was most definitely not. Then my mate asked to the staff member why are you being so rude. The staff member told him to get out for no reason. Then the staff member said to get your brother or anyone. Then when I was leaving he called me a prick. I said to him shame on you shame. He said to me that your just a kid to me I said I can do more weights than you. Not everyone is bad there are some people that work there that are nice such as the manager and maybe about 6 other people but the rest of them are very rude.Overall this place is badly managed and most staff need to be trained on how to speak...
Read moreAs someone who cannot yet afford the neighbouring swimming facility, I have mixed feelings about Finchley Lido. On a positive note, the receptionist gentleman is amazing and always goes above and beyond to help. The swimming teachers also seem dedicated and professional. However, there are a couple of ongoing issues that haven't been addressed despite multiple complaints. Every day, there are swimming lessons taking place in the main pool, and parents sit all around the facility in their outdoor shoes, outdoor dress, buggies, using phones and laptops. Furthermore, another issue at Finchley Lido is the presence of other siblings running around bored, with moms and dads occasionally present. It becomes quite uncomfortable to walk around them in a swimming suit, adding to the overall inconvenience of the experience. It lacks hygiene and privacy, and no changes have been made, and won't be, as I was advised. It would be greatly appreciated if Finchley Lido could implement measures such as asking them to wait outside or utilising a partition to separate them from the other pool area, where people are in swimsuits and slippers. I was advise they are watching their children.. they don't. They watching everything, but their children. This would help create a more comfortable and hygienic environment for all visitors, WHO PAYS. Additionally, the Swim for All pool lacks proper regulations and rules. There are frequent instances of adults behaving inappropriately, splashing water, and not respecting the surroundings or children who can't swim. Kids after finishing their swimming lessons also use the pool as their own playground, although they finished what they paid for. Sometimes the lifeguards take action, but other times they just watch, them. This happens almost every day, creating an uncomfortable...
Read moreThe Lido at Finchley is a mixed bag. Admittedly, it could be a bit cleaner here and there, but you seemingly get a good deal. Swimming pool and even a sauna for the price of a regular gym without these amenities. Under these conditions, it is definitely worth four or five stars. Unfortunately, the Lido does not offer these amenities (or at least not anymore) to most of its members. The fundamental advantage of the Lido, its swimming pool, is only available during very specific and very inconvenient times. The management has decided to rent out the pool for other activities and during these times, it is no longer available to members. I can understand that this is a means to cover the higher energy costs and initially this policy was rather limited and caused only a few clashes. However, the availability of the pool has been drastically and increasingly curtailed over time and you will now find it barely available to member. During these rare times, the pool is hopelessly overcrowded. To make matters worse, opening times are also fairly limited. On top of this, the management must have recently changed its gym policy. For the past few months, it is regularly overrun by teenagers who have hardly hit puberty and who have discovered this as a new place to hang out after school. Not only is the use of weights at this age and without proper instructions highly dangerous, but it drastically limits the times at which the members can freely use the gym. If you are a student, fully flexible, and able to plan your schedule around the Lido, this is definitely a good deal. If your availability is limited due to work and other commitments, you will rarely make use of the Lido and are better off at one of its competitors which allow...
