Great hard-working fishmonger team

As someone who doesn't regularly go to the fishmonger I was really grateful for the professionalism and efficiency of the team at North Finchley Quality Fishmongers.

I'd left it very late to get a carp for a traditional Christmas meal. I was very relieved to find that they had some, and even more relieved that they cut it for me so that it was ready to be cooked. My family and I really enjoyed the resulting meal which was delicious. Carp has a distinctive flavour and I recommend it. I had been warned about it being very boney, but with the fishmongers help that was no issue

I was very impressed by the hard-working team at the fishmongers and it was a bit of Christmas magic that they helped me to make a lovely fish dinner despite my inexperience.

Just not that reliable.

Sometimes they let you choose the fish, then when they clean and fillet it behind the really high counter, the fish you get just seems smaller than the one you picked.

Sometimes they say you can’t choose (eg deal of 7 for £x). And of the fish they pick for you, there is always one small/bad one to ruin the purchase.

Won’t recommend to anyone. Stars for the location & accessibility.

*just to respond to the owners comment: quality is not your strong point if you take pride in mixing bad fish with the good. If you think asking for all fish in a purchase to be edible is “special service”, your standards of service are clearly...

I would give 3 stars to the quality and the price however the Service was very disappointed . I ordered 6 sea bass , a man took it and cleaned it , then I was going to order another whole salmon but he grabbed card reader to me without asking if I need anything else. I tried to ask the price but seems he didn’t want to bother , he just mumbled the price and left :O I think that was a very rude customer service...
