UPDATE AS OF 26/06/24 - STILL a lovely little bit of park life in the North Finchley / Friern Barnet area. Summer 2024 has finally arrived and the park is in all its green glory 🙌 😍🌞🥳 🌴🌳🌲🐞 Amenities include: Skateboard Area 🛹 Exercise Area 💪🏾- Dear Labour Council, please install some pull up bars and other lovely new equipment so that your constituents don't die of obesity! Table Tennis - x1 - Located near the exercise area. Tennis Courts - x2, which have been refurbished and look swish🤩 - Please note, you must book in advance. Large Children's Playground 🤸‍♂️. Bowling Green / Club. Community Centre with Cafe. Ladies and Gents Toilets - The gents are grim...no toilet seats, soap, just a bit grim...the ladies have no such problem...go figure! 🤔. New Baby Changing / Accessible changing space - Access via your own radar key 🔑. Oh and there's loads of grass....😉 Gorgeous on a sunny day and used extensively as part of my work out regime 👍🏽🥰💪🏾🥵 The funfairs in town!!! 🍭🌭🍔🍦🥤🎠🎡🎢 - Until 21st August 2022 👍🏽😃🥳 As of 26th June, the fair has come and gone👍🏽 Walking / running etiquette - As we drive on the left, walk / run on the left...makes complete sense to me...also, groups of people, with dogs, prams and just people, please move to one side to allow people to pass - common manners and decency are appreciated👍🏽🥰.

I recently discovered the wonderful Friary Park, and let me tell you, it's an absolute treasure. If you're looking for a peaceful escape, this place is a must-visit! As soon as I entered Friary Park, I felt like I was transported to a calm and relaxing haven. It's definitely the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature's beauty. The park has lovely pathways that lead to hidden corners and surprises along the way. Whether you're taking a walk or having a picnic with friends. There's something for everyone to enjoy. One of the best parts of Friary Park is its pretty pond. The clean water and the ducks. It's an ideal spot to sit and relax, watching the ducks go by. For families, there's a fantastic playground area that will keep the little ones entertained for hours. With slides, swings, and climbing frames. I was impressed by how clean the park is and the friendly atmosphere created by both visitors and park staff. It truly felt like a place where everyone can come together and enjoy nature's beauty. If you're looking for a refreshing escape or simply want to relax in a beautiful green space, I highly recommend visiting Friary Park. It's definitely a hidden treasure. Remember to check the park's opening hours and any specific guidelines before your visit.

Friary Park is lovely small park located off the High Road in Barnet towards Friern Barnet. It has so many essential features, including a playground, a skate park, outdoor exercise machines and two quality well maintained tennis courts. It is welcoming and peaceful with a beautiful view from a sloping green hillside, as well as a more wooded short walk around the perimeter, along a pretty brook. It is also the site of a breathtaking historical sculpture, the Bringer of Peace, which represents Queen Victoria and which was originally commissioned to stand where we now find the memorial to Prince Albert outside the Royal Albert Hall, but which Queen Victoria asked to be replaced by Prince Albert's statue after his death. Such a find. The cafe in the park has shut due to lease issues, and is out to tender. It would be such a gorgeous cafe if saved and renovated, especially its glass panelling front. It also serves as the site for a special community centre, Community Focus Inclusive Arts, which offers art programmes for youth and adults with disabilities. There are two entrances, one more accessible one being on Friern Barnet Lane. So much in such a compact lovely green space.
