Harrow Recreation Ground — Attraction in London

This is a lovely green space, an oasis of calm in a busy world, surrounded by trees where you will hear and see woodpeckers, robins, blackbirds and wrens as well as a whole host of other birds. It's there waiting to be enjoyed. It's plain and simple. Flowers are nicely maintained, and the park looks delightful and bright. Nice tea room and play area for the children as well as tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts. It is nice to see the various people here. Grandparents with their grandchildren. Parents with their children. It is nice to see all kinds of dog breeds, too; lovely and cheerful creatures. The large expanse of grass is used by picnickers, dog walkers, football, and other sports. Space to walk, run, play cricket, frisbee, rounders, and many other games you can think of.  Lovely park to take a stroll, read a book, play badminton, or just lay on your back, watch the clouds stroll past above you, and enjoy the tranquillity. It is what you make it. It's not Holland Park, but it's pretty decent. We've got a cafe now, a mound that seemingly serves no purpose, an outdoor gym and sadly a man who sleeps on the covered bench overnight. I'm sure you'd make his day if you bought him a hot drink and a sandwich. Or if you could get the Tories to have a better housing policy after 12 years. There is always a guy smoking / selling weed in the South East corner by the car park, which must be a community service as the Police happily cycle straight past. I'm not sure of his operating hours, but you can smell when he's "open".

The cricket huts are a dark green to blend in. The new shutters are Marigold glow in the dark orange. Which doesn't blend in so much.

Started going to play basketball recently, had a nice time in the courts the other day. I want to try and give myself a bit more of a healthier lifestyle, well I’m trying to. Got there this morning to find it all locked up!! No notice, no reason why and no indication of when it’s going to be back open! I don’t complain a lot but that is unacceptable. What happened to giving the community choices and promoting a healthier lifestyle and wellbeing 🙄 got all that way for nothing, it’s very discouraging. A heads up would have been nice.
