Went to the counter to ask help with Oyster card, the person that was working named Chandra told me wait for the oyster machine to get free and he will help me. In 2-3 mins the machine was free, this guy was busy talking to someone on the phone inside the counter. I thought maybe office and waited. Been 10-15 mins Iām waiting this guy hasnāt stopped talking on the phone, I could literally hear him speak to one of the colleagues as he was laughing and talking something else but not work related. I asked him ā brother plz my train will leave in 5-10 mi. he is like Iām talking with head office itās important call. It got me thinking what is important a customer who is waiting or the phone call that is clearly not office call I assume itās just a work colleague on phone. I has to ask him again plz brother my train will leave or else u can continue and Iāll leave. He is like got upset kept the call he smacked the phone like he is angry and came out towards me as if to show me he is angry. Came towards me and in an aggressive way asked me if my oyster is registered or no? I said yes itās on my name.he took my card and scanned and i dont know why My Oyster card showed unregistered but on app it was showing registered. He started arguing with me. And told me another option is there you can go to underground station and they will override it and link the card. I said ok but asked him what time the station counter is available and told him I donāt want to be late my today plans will be f%%ed up. He thought I said bad words to him and started arguing with me. I tried to explain to him i dont know you now I had intention to say it to u. I said it in a normal way towards me. He still didnāt stop arguing. He walked towards the oyster tap in and went the other side of barrier where his office door was. Again he didnāt stop arguing and started saying you people are over smart and extra talking and started saying thing that Iād donāt even imagine that would happen to me. I told him see brother I didnāt mean to say it to you by looking at him and then he thought I was looking at his badge and started saying this is my name you can complain if you want nothing will happen to me. It clearly looks like he has been doing this for a long time and I know he has done to other people as well. I had called their customer service team around 12pm yesterday they took my details and email address and said they will reply. Got a reply apologising to me and said whatever you wrote to them ( which I didnāt, I just complained) is not the case. That means saying whatever I told them is wrong. All I want is apology from him that it and promise from him saying that he wonāt behave like this with others. On the same day evening time I had an epilepsy attack which I didnāt had for past years due to stress and anxiety. I know I was not wrong but I tried to control him but he seems to be a menace and I know for a fact TfL trying...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAt around 6 this morning a customer sneaked in behind another customer at the turn style gate thus not tapping in or paying. This occured right in front of a TFL member of staff who was too busy chatting and laughing while on his phone. This TFL member watched it happen and did nothing even though he was right next to that specific turn style gate. It seems that some people don't have to pay, just like some passengers on the local buses, H98, U4, etc.
25 Sept - good to see staff checking this morning, good work. Just need to check on passengers smoking cigarettes on platform 4. Need 'no smoking' signs up, then these offenders can be kicked off the premises.
Update - Wed morning 31 Jan, 2 passengers came out from platform and forced their way out through disabled barrier without tapping out. One came back the same way forcing his way through that same barrier, not tapping in. Staff didn't challenge, seems to me it depends on what kind of passenger one is, which determines whether you get challenged or not. Begs the question, why does everyone else have to pay when certain others don't?
Update: seems every time use this station there are people just forcing themselves through the disabled gate and not paying.once again right in front of a tfl member who seems to be too caught up on her tablet. Why do I have to pay when others...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe station is ideally placed with a lot of stores around. The high street is just there. You can do your shopping and pick up groceries at the Tesco express just outside the station or do your big shop at the Asda superstore near by. There is fantastic bus connectivity to a number of places from the front of the station. Coffee shop at the entrance as well. The staff are friendly. The station is going through a lot of renovation as it's going to be a cross rail junction and that would make it even more important.
There is direct train connectivity to Heathrow from this station and service apartments just outside the station door which means it's a great station for tourists to get down at and find a cheaper accommodation (though prices are rocketing up these days) to stay which is not central but will get you to Paddington via the train in 15 mins. The station is maintained clean and haven't seen any problems while travelling in the station. Train delays etc that others have mentioned in their reviews has nothing to do with the station itself and is something that happens in every...
