Went here quite recently. Booked over the phone for a table for 4. On arrival a waitress offered us a tiny table right near the entrance where we were standing on arrival. On viewing the offered table It barely had just enough space with the cutlery and plates already set on it and would not be any space to place the dishes ordered. It would only be ok if you’re having drinks only. I immediately told her that the table she offered was too small for the 4 of us and it was too close to the entrance/exit and no privacy with people walking past and told her if we could sit where we sat last time a month previously but she explained that that place was for 2 people but she nevertheless joined two of these tables together to accommodate us. The restaurant was not that busy and informing them beforehand through telephone booking they should have been aware that we had 4 people booked in and hence should have set up the table already. Another waitress then came by to take our drinks and food order. She didn’t repeat back our order to see if it was correct. My mistake!! I should have asked her to repeat our order as later on they sent out a dish short so we had to wait for that dish to come to our table. While we were waiting for our food, I saw an English gentleman who was with his family, leave his table and speak to one of the serving staff as they had brought out the food to his table but were still waiting for the drinks that he had ordered. I could hear his conversation clearly that he was still waiting for the drinks for his table. He eventually got them in the end. Whilst we were having our food, a party of 6 came in and were seated in one of the booths behind us. After about 20 minutes they got up and left without ordering anything, not even drinks. Not sure at this point if it was the lack of attention from the serving staff but they didn’t look too pleased. The first waitress that greeted us and offered the small table was also hovering around us and too eager to take away plates even before we finished our meals/desserts. I really found this so rude. Please teach your inexperienced young staff the waiter manners as it is just as important as the food that you present. As for the food, it is only the second time I have been here but the whole experience it was average and I have tasted better. I was only tempted to come here the second time because I didn’t experience these issues the first time but the ambiance stood out and on this particular occasion was the only exceptional thing. I don’t really leave negative reviews but on this occasion the behaviour and non attentive staff have left me with no choice. I will not be coming back here,...
Read moreThe key to a successful restaurant is not just the food. It is the experience delivered by the people working at the restaurant. Takaa Tak (Hayes) has the best manager that I have ever come across while dining out in London. Benjamino, you are an exceptional manager with an eye for detail. Your hospitality standards are impeccable. You and your team deliver on the Takaa Tak brand promise each time I dine with you. It is such a joy to be greeted by you with warmth (as if one were a guest at someone's home). Benjamino, your innate ability to ensure that the food is served with such elegance, makes the overall dining experience such a pleasure. You lead by example in constantly keeping a watchful eye on your guests (in case they may need something). Manisha, Parminder, and Sunny (your team members) are incredible at their level of providing exceptional service to me. Strategically located adjacent to Hayes & Harlington station, makes it so much easier to hop off the train and head straight to Takaa Tak for authentic Indian food that melts in your mouth. A special shout out to Chef Jassi (Executive Chef) and his kitchen team of culinary experts, that never fail to impress with their consistency in taste, temperature, and presentation. Benjamino and Chef Jassi are a lethal combination of excellence that make Takaa Tak (Hayes) the best kept secret in London for outstanding Indian food. Thank you Benjamino for such a warm and wonderful...
Read moreGreat location. Neat , clean and comfortable set up . Courteous and efficient staff . The cocktails ordered initially took unduly long to be served , straight drinks arrive much quicker ! Food was top class , authentic punjabi . Overall, a great place for the price charged . Thank you Takaa Tak for an enjoyable evening.
After the excellent first time experience above , four of us went again for drinks and dinner last week but what a horrible experience it turned out to be ! There was a birthday party going on but quite a few tables were still vacant , and yes , we were told that we may have to wait a little longer than normal for our meals order. We waited for over 15 minutes but no one attended to us even though the bar was bereft of any customer , nor we saw any drinks being taken to the party in progress though the barmaid was very much there. . There was no other waiter to be seen except probably the manager/ owner who was himself attending to the party crowd. We walked out after about 15 minutes. Team Takka Tak may have earned enough for the evening from the birthday party but surely have lost four otherwise repeat customers of theirs. They could well have closed the restaurant for the evening except for those...
