Living in Grahame Park Estate has been an incredibly frustrating and frightening experience. Walking around here, especially at night, feels like a risk to your safety. The area is known for its dangerous atmosphere, with a lot of thieves and drug addicts roaming the streets, often high and out of control. I’ve seen people using heroin and sniffing cocaine right outside the shops, and it’s terrifying to see this happening in front of young children, who often end up being scared away.
The crime rate is shocking, with armed police having to be called regularly due to incidents involving knives and guns. Gangs run rampant around here, and they can tell who belongs in the area and who doesn’t. I’ve been jumped a few times and robbed, which just adds to the feeling of being unsafe in my own home. Walking through the park is a complete no-go; it’s a hotspot for violence and criminal activity.
Sadly, this isn’t just hearsay--I’ve had two friends shot and killed in this area, and one of them is now serving time for murder. To make matters worse, my next-door neighbor’s house has been raided by the police twice, which just goes to show how out of control things are around here.

It is very close to Barnet Council's new building, Barnet and Southgate College Branch, the library, train and railway stations, Police station. Everything is within close proximity. There are good schools too. The entire estate has a fair share of green strips. The One Stop Shop is easily accessible for the people. Many activities are organised by the staff here. Youth activities are on throughout the year. Certain activities are also organised by the Local Church i.e. Guitar lessons, arts clubs etc. It is not void of the social problems but the police does try it's best to keep it to a minimum.
