I discovered this park in late summer and love to walk this is situated on the hill at one side you can see Crystal Palace towers and other side you can see a tall buildings of Canary Wharf and one side houses during walk you can discover many things different boundaries of park for different activities you also can see lines of mature trees might be planted over a century children play area is also amazing and you can find activities and attractions for all ages during walk or run you can touch the ground on side and and at top you can touch the sky since I started walking in this park I got lot of inspirations and that I converted to my poems I never had such type of thoughts in any other park for me it’s good place for poetics thoughts I think most of artist are sensitive to nature and scroungings where they catch ideas for their creative work I suggest those people to visit and walk in this park and feel the hunger of city how slowly and unknownley capturing the land of nature and removing all trees and bushes to convert high rise buildings to satisfy there greed It’s good an interesting park for sport lovers and children dog walkers I am also sharing some pictures taken on...

A lovely park with loads of different green spaces. A plane meadow for playing football with regular football classes to join every Saturday morning, trees to climb for kids, as the title might imply hilly fields with shade to have a picnic, wood exploration etc ... at the bottom towards St. John's a confined 'forest area' for toddlers to play and there are weekly forest groups for that age group and above. At the top is the wonderful Pistachio cafe. Self-made cakes, warm and cold breakfast and loads of coffee for affordable prices and most ingredients are organic to be enjoyed in- or outdoors. There is a caged tennis or basketball area as well as a wonderful playground for age groups 0 - 9. Many different sports groups love to go there as well. For lovers of the mysterious - there is a stone circle that can be and are used either as a sun clock, bouldering space (kids climbing on them) or the occasional shamanic (other) ceremony. And finally there is Prendegast school as well. A beautiful, lively and mostly safe...

This is the Park nearest to where I live and therefore one of my favourites. It has a great variety of very old trees, beautifully kept lawns, used as a football pitch or cricket ground at times, it has a stone circle, a wooded area, beautiful lanes, a café, picnic area, kid's playground and enclosures for tennis and similar sports. There is also a drinking fountain with a little trough for dogs, very useful in the warm months. There is also the Bowls Club at one end of the Fields and the 6th Form College of Prendergast School in the middle. Several times a year the Fields are used for community entertainment, such as the ubiquitous Hilly Fields Midsummer Fair. Whenever I can, I like to spend some time on the Fields, where there are also spectacular views of places such as the Isle of Dogs, the City,...

So the name is apt, and you should probably add windy to it as an exposed hill. This surprisingly large park is hidden between Lewisham and Brockley surrounded by nice residential areas and even has a school in the middle. The children’s play area is regularly busy but never crowded and next to tennis courts and generally just lovely views. There’s a cafe which is popular (expect to queue) and has a toilet on the back by the mid kitchen (pots, pans, etc). Although hilly, there is a large flat bit at the bottom that regularly gets used for ad-hoc sport. It’s also ace as a run-off area if there’s snow (you’ll need it!). Popular for yoga and athletics, it’s a nice place to come. Just bring something to stop the wind.

Wallless, gateless fields covering a hill with great views of sky scrapers of the docklands, the city, the shard and Lewisham, as well as the radio masts of Forest Hill, crystal Palace and one other to the South. The park hosts a hilly Parkrun out of a pandemic. At the top of the hill is a cafe with toilet facilities at the back, playground, water dispensing tower, community exercise machines, three tennis courts, and basketball court. The North side of the park is host to cricket grounds and football training and fitness training. The South side of the park is host to a meadow like area of limited maintenance to promote bio diversity, which can be pleasant to lie in.
