Pistachios in the Park — Restaurant in London

I've been here many times and the food and coffee are good, but they are so disorganised and chaotic!

Last time I went, I ordered and paid for my food. A few minutes later, the man who had taken my order must have forgotten that he had already charged me, and came over to my table and accused me in a pretty unfriendly way of not paying. He made me go back to the counter and pay again, I only agreed to it because I thought maybe my card hadn't gone through the first time. Also, my BLT with avocado was missing the avocado but I really didn't want to bring it up with him...

Sure enough when I checked my bank statement both charges had gone through, although the second one was higher than the first (?!). So I really didn't appreciate of being accused of not paying, AND paying double for my lunch.

They really need to either hire more staff, or learn to cope better with busy periods. Until then, I'm inclined to skip this place and go to the other good cafes...

I used to love this place. As a local resident, I've been coming off and on for many years. It was a place to meet friends, colleagues, to do some work outside from my home (when WFH becomes too much). I was an enthusiastic customer, often buying coffees/teas, lunch, cake through the day. My recent visit was not so pleasant, There was a new rule of no laptops, which was only communed via signs pasted on the wall. I did not see them. Even though the place was not packed (empty tables around) I got barked at rudely by one of the staff, even though I'd only just heard the rule. When I enquired about the policy, I was also told that they now prioritised families, and not people who just order a coffee, even though I'd ordered much and was a local repeat customer. This totally spoiled the vibe for me. I had thought of this as my local friendly place. I used to arrange meet-ups here, but not again until they're less discriminatory of people...

Lovely spot for a cafe with nice decor, food and coffee was alright and prices were okay, and the place was busy but we don’t mind. The staff, however, were unfriendly to the point of hostility. Saw a girl on a table nearby have her order served incorrectly and the server rudely accused her of ordering it wrong herself- I mean, who working in service does that? Girl at the register taking my order was grumpy and standoffish, and girl bringing the orders out to people seemed like she was genuinely angry at all the customers. I have never written a review but I just think it’s such a shame because it’s a really nice cafe in a nice spot but the employees were so rude it just gave the place a really weird vibe. I should add the older woman (who was maybe a manager?) was pleasant, it was the younger servers...
