We've arrived around lunch, on a Wednesday, thinking we would find plenty of seats for five. How wrong we were, the place was packed - it's usually very popular, as the train and civil workers strikes coincided with our outing. Nonetheless, the always helpful staff lend us a hand and we managed to sit in. Food and drinks were great as usual and service is very fast, prompt and on point. It's a great spot for brunch/lunch which we've visited many times and never left disappointed. The brunch/lunch items are simple but always very good (the ham&cheese omelette is a favorite of mine) and the pastries and cakes are always very good (tried about half of the offering so far). BE WARNED though: the cafe is a magnet for families with small children and the hectic haberdashery they bring along. The staff does everything in their power to accommodate everyone but I can understand that sometimes catering to families is soul-sucking and spirit-draining.

This place is packed on the weekend. Be prepared to wait for a table. Ordered a full breakfast which cost £7.99 and the Egg Royale which came with avocado and a light salad for £8.20, both of which were great. The pistachio delight cake (£3.99) also went down a treat. Would definitely recommend dropping by. Update: visited again and was disappointed as full breakfast was lukewarm/ cold, savoury crepe was sweet, orange juice all over the floor which I had to clean myself with a napkin. Also note there is an extra charge of £1 something for poached egg with the full breakfast that may be mentioned or may not be mentioned (this is what I was told by the member of staff when I said that I ordered the same meal the week before and an extra charge wasn’t mentioned) that isn’t up on the menu board (it should be), needless to say I was not impressed hence the dropped rating.

I was really excited to try out this cafe for the first time after a well earned walk. The atmosphere was comfy and welcoming, a nice space to catch up with family or friends. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing I can comment on that I was disappointed on was the food. The food looked great but it didn't quite match the taste. I had a lasagne and it was really lacking flavour and seasoning, my other half had a full breakfast and again it just didn't taste as good as it looked and lacked seasoning. I then thought to try the bakery as they all looked amazing! I had a terimisu, unfortunately it was far from a terimisu and didn't taste that nice. I had high hopes for the place, but maybe it was a one off?

When I first started coming here , I would get eggs Benedict and I noticed some people would get a garnish or tomato on the side and I didn’t and being honest , that put me off eating there for a while as I like consistency and paying the prices they charge for food , I do expect it. Also being established for as long as they have , I believe they know what sells and what they should have enough off to make every dish the same but that’s just me. I believe in second chances so I tried them again . I honestly used to love the chicken buns warmed up until one time I asked for it to be heated and when I bit into it, the middle was cold which was a shame as I haven’t ordered a chicken bun since. The filled croissants definitely are overpriced for what they are . They are okay, nothing special in my opinion . I tried their lasagne with my work colleague, and they were the last two one lunch time and to be honest, I have had better lasagne. Taste wise it wasn’t up there and it was quite dry and for what they charge. It’s the most I’ve paid for a lasagne. Now I just stick to certain patisseries because some of them are really good . I do think it’s quite overpriced so I just have a patisserie every now and...

Attended with colleagues for lunch. One of the staff behind the counter lacked customer service skills for sure. Her attitude was poor and involved, rolling her eyes and dismissing concerns/queries. Our order was meant to be ready at 1:15. we arrived at 1:20, and nothing was ready and had to re-order upon arrival. When we queried about the delay. The young lady behind the till was not very helpful and was very unprofessional in her attitude and response. we were told that "you were late anyway" however my colleague had sent over the order in the morning consideering it was a working lunch and was reassured on 3 separate occasions that it would be ready. The manager, however, was quite nice and did appologise.

The panini sandwich was nice. The salad that a lot of us ordered was extremely cold. Some opted to take away as it was difficult to eat. Some had the salmon crepe which cost about £10.00 for the price u paid you had more crepe than filling-a measly portion of salmon as such it was quite dry some of us opted to take sauce from other dishes to help making it a bit more appetising. The orange juice, however, was quite...

Garbage! Doesn't matter how polite you are, my husband and I had only just sat at a table, and literally two minutes after the overpriced food had arrived, we were told to leave in half an hour due to receiving a lunchtime booking! We had sat there for a while before our food arrived so there was ample time to have informed us of this. Perhaps we wanted another tea afterwards? Or a pastry? No, we had to rush our food down our throats constantly looking over our shoulder for these very important guests whose money is the same colour as ours! Then, this rambling woman (presumably the owner) was urging all to leave in our section just to accommodate the lunchtime booking. Lots of people were displeased, not just us. This place is not a Gordon Ramsey restaurant, but a humble café that relies on its regulars to survive. This woman was rude and it spoiled our time there! Suffice to say, we won't be returning and I'd urge all to avoid this place like the plague! They treat their customers like cattle, awful! Le...
