Read moreThis park was ‘let go’ a little, but now has a dedicated Friends of Kingston Road Recreation Ground group who do monthly community improvements. There are regular litter picks, a new big hotel, a stag beetle loggery, a wild flower meadow and plans for further improvements. They’re attempting to build a sensory relaxation garden, as well as introduce outdoor gym equipment and improve the playground.

Yes, it has a great big expense of green but people keep it clean and there are really decent tennis courts, kids playground and the beginning of a wildflower meadow at one end.
