Kingston Road Recreation Ground — Attraction in London

Lovely local park that the local volunteers group (Friends of Kingston Road Recreation Ground) have done an amazing job of converting from a very neglected green space into a lovely nature-rich park, including wildflower corridors and a big tree planting focus. This park was ‘let go’ a little, but now has a dedicated Friends of Kingston Road Recreation Ground group who do monthly community improvements. There are regular litter picks, a new big hotel, a stag beetle loggery, a wild flower meadow and plans for further improvements. They’re attempting to build a sensory relaxation garden, as well as introduce outdoor gym equipment and improve the playground.

I thought this was just a large green space where dogs run about & mess but how wrong I was! Yes, it has a great big expense of green but people keep it clean and there are really decent tennis courts, kids playground and the beginning of a wildflower meadow at one end.
