Langley Park Golf Club — Attraction in London

Me and my partner got married abroad and decided to have our UK reception at Langley Park, and it was the best decision we could have made! After visiting lots of other golf clubs and venues in the area we quickly realised that Langley Park was by far the best, the service from the manager Ben was fantastic and very personalised, we was shown great hospitality on the original tour and following booking all of my many emails regarding details of the venue were promptly answered with all the information required, Despite the fact that it was not a full sit down wedding and more of a family party, the attention to detail was fantastic, we were even invited in for a second viewing nearer the time and a lengthy discussion on how we wanted the night to go and where we would situation the decorations, which left me full of confidence. The venue itself is really beautiful with great views across the course and the lake, the single room layout is perfect for a party that doesn’t divide guests, the hire cost is inclusive of a stylish dance floor, lots of up lighting and fairy lights at the entrance which is a really nice touch and none of the above were included in other venues that we viewed, at least not without additional costs. On top of this there was no restrictions on what we wanted to do, as with other venues in the area, we were allowed to use table cloths/decoration whatever we wanted where as other places dictated certain things we couldn’t have such as chair covers. On the night both management and bar staff were fantastic, Ben went out of his way to reformat/get us a new USB stick to show our wedding photos as the one I had prepared didn’t work, the cake was cut for bagged for us, tables were set up for the cake to be taken by guests, the bar was manned well and I never had to wait for a drink, everything was seamlessly completed with a smile. The lovely young men behind the bar were so friendly and chatty and the staff also stored all of our decorations and even our cards and gifts safely in the locked office so that we didn’t need to worry and could collect them at a leisurely time the next day. The food also was very reasonable and tasted amazing lots of it was fresh and homemade and so many people commented positively about it, I also had a lot of comments about how amazing lily accommodating all of the staff were, I really do not have one negative thing to say about Langley Park and would hesitate to...

It was by absolute chance that we found out about this venue for my father’s wake. Although a rather sad reason to come here. It left all that attended with the same impression. What an amazing venue, and what a well kept secret.

All arrangements were made through catering manager Ben Cleave, he was professional, accommodating, very communicative. Although covid restrictions remained in place. Ben and his team made it as comfortable and normal as was achievably possible.

The room itself was private from the rest of the restaurant and bar, very well furnished, tables set with white linen and clean flatware. The room was airy and bright, lots of glass. Doors leading out onto a decked patio overlooking the golf course. Very picturesque and this enhanced the atmosphere no end.

The meal we chose was simple in design. Roasted Breast of Chicken, Buttered Potatoes, medley of Vegetables, Cauliflower Cheese with Gravy for those that want it. Dessert was a choice of White Chocolate Cheesecake or Black Forest gateaux. Tea or Coffee with Chocolate mints to conclude.

Although simple in design. It was executed with style. The meal was on time, hot, fresh and attractive. Service was quick and efficient. No one was left waiting for their meal.

The staff were very efficient, meals and drinks delivered as quickly as could be expected. Nothing was too much trouble.

All Covid practices were being followed, suitable parking, everything very clean and well maintained, disabled access if required.

2 of us Visited Langley Park Golf Club this week. We are 14 Handicappers.

Course was in lovely condition and is a tough test.

Parking not easy.

Pro Shop tried to charge us each £10 more than quoted on phone and told one player that smart short black golf socks were not permitted on course so he was required to buy new ones to play course (the sort of approach that is fast becoming outdated in modern golf where younger players need to be encouraged). Pro Shop attitude aloof and unwelcoming.

Arrived on first tee and were then literally barged aside by 2 members who were playing a Club Competition Singles Match and insisted on playing through without so much as a "Please".

We are not slow players . As a 2 ball we took 3 hours 10 minutes , including allowing a single player through on one hole. The whole round we felt rushed because Members at this Club seem to treat their round as a race to the finish .

Even the ground staff on course were oblivious to us playing and left equipment in the way of our approach shots to the Greens on 2 holes.

We were given the impression strongly that Langley Park Golf Club doesn't need or welcome Visitors so we won't return. Shame because the course is a good one, albeit...
