Lloyd Park is a fantastic place to spend some time outdoors in Walthamstow. The park is quite spacious with plenty of greenery, walking paths, and sports facilities. There is a lot to explore here, from the beautiful lake to the historic Lloyd Park House, which has been turned into a cafe and gallery.
The park is well-maintained and clean, with ample seating areas and picnic spots for families and groups of friends. The playground is a hit with kids, and there are even some small farm animals for them to interact with. The sports facilities, including a skate park, tennis courts, and a basketball court, are also top-notch.
One of the highlights of Lloyd Park is the William Morris Gallery, which is a must-visit for anyone interested in arts and crafts. The gallery showcases the works of William Morris, a prominent artist and designer from the Arts and Crafts movement. The exhibitions are informative and engaging, and the museum shop has a great selection of books and gifts.
Overall, Lloyd Park is a gem in Walthamstow and a great place to relax, exercise, or explore....
Read moreForgot to take any pictures but it was alright I guess, had some nice flowers near the William Morris gallery and there’s some small lake there. We saw some wooden area near the lake it said deep water but during this time it was super low barely any water there. We had a picnic there for like 15mins and the small gate to it was locked lol but it looked really nice so I forced my friends to just jump over. It was nice while it lasted we did get a few looks and near the end these 3/4 fat old white men with fishing rods saw us and were pointing our way then reported us to the park authorities and whatever. They came and told us to leave and it was restricted for a reason but there was barely any water so I don’t see the point. Obviously I was very nice and acted respectfully and collected our stuff n left but they gave us Dirts for sure. They couldn’t wait like 1 min they were rushing us. We didn’t go near the other side of the park and left instead. It’s spacious so thats...
Read moreTennis courts in need of work….
If only they kept the rest of the park clean and tidy and not just the pride and treasure of the William Morris Gallery and it’s gardens. There’s ALWAYS a horde of gardeners for the William Morris part!.
The tennis courts are a mess with clearly broken tennis nets not being replaced even after a year of constant contact with the council. There’s always some youths kicking footballs in the tennis courts because the second gates which should be padlocked are always open.*
There’s debris all over the courts which are never swept and when enquiring with the council, we’re not allowed to sweep them ourselves!
Terrible for when you pay a subscription to use the courts.
Update July 2022: the nets got replaced after just over a year of constant requests and the gates are locked again.
Unfortunately, the tennis courts are still full of tree debris which is often a trip hazard, and they are...
