This Chinese supermarket is far bigger inside, than it may appear from outside. It stocks a wide range of fresh fruit and veg, as well as having fresh fish and meat counters.
There's a huge range of Chinese food products, plus some homeware too. There are also food products from other Asian countries.
The shop is clean and tidy, and very well organised too, making it easy to find whatever you're looking for. There are plenty of staff around on the shop floor, and they are always happy to help.
There are bigger Chinese supermarkets in London and elsewhere in the UK, but this shop seems to sell many products which I've never found in any other shop (and I've been to a lot of Chinese supermarkets!). This certainly gives the shop a very authentic feel.
There are usually only one or two staffed checkouts open, so service can be a little slow at times, especially if the queues are long. Even so, this is an excellent place to shop for Asian groceries, and prices are very reasonable too. There is free underground parking nearby at the Bang Bang Oriental/Morrisons car park. Totally...
Read moreYesterday was my first visit to this store, spent like half an hour in the store. It was really cool I found so many items I needed and the Chinese new year cake before Chinese New year. They also have other Asian food item like Japanese and Korean/ Thai/Malaysian food and sauces, lots of Asian vegetables. / fresh cut meat and fresh corn fed chicken in good price/pre cooked Chinese bbq/ hot pot items etc.
They have nice fresh thick shitake mushroom in good price that are more flavorful than the others which I can't buy in many other places like the flavourless ones you can get in local supermarket. That is something I was looking for.
Asian style Mango pancakes were nice. Those Chinese herbal soup packs are real nice and convenient saved my journey to China Town to look for bits.
Out of curiosity I got the self heating meal to try it out it seems convenient. They are alright.
I just wish they would do deliveroo too, that would be real convenient. Will come purchase again looking forward to see new exciting items every...
Read moreNot as spacious as wing yip. Not with as wide a range - particularly in frozen. But, they do have some interesting items. For example; in fresh veg they have grown in UK choi sum as well as grown in China. Grown in UK is much longer than Chinese variety but also considerably cheaper. I bought and stir fried (with little chop garlic, white pepper and few dots of oyster sauce at the end) - every nice. Perhaps a tiny,, tiny bit more watery than Chinese original.
They have fresh fish section with various fish and crustaceans. Also fresh cooked from restaurant in the chiller (char siu, chicken feet, crispy pork belly). Large selection of Japanese snacks. Small canned goods. Some dried foods (mushrooms, herb soups). Only very newly opened - looks like they plan to have self checkout as well as staffed.
Price wise - similar to wing yip - a bit cheaper...
