Lordship Recreation Ground — Attraction in London

A lovely green space to walk and enjoy a stroll. You can either follow the path or walk on the grass, there is room for everyone. Dogs can enjoy themselves in the large grassy area in the middle.

Reason for 3 stars is due to the fact that on Evenings, Bank Holidays and the Weekend there is so much litter left strewn around, not to mention lots of glass bottles and cans which is not acceptable or safe for anyone. If the bin is full then just leave it on the side.

Also be wary of weird men lurking around, there have been reports about certain individuals watching people and being shifty or making inappropriate gestures. It is a shame that you have to be incredibly vigilant in this park due to a few unsavory people.

If you are a dog owner, yes it is a good space for walking the dog but just be mindful of certain breeds. There are a few people who claim their dog is "friendly" then they end up going off on one and growling. Usually staffy/mixed type of breeds. I don't like to generalize but I'm going by experience.

Having said that mornings are the best when children are going to school and dogs are being walked, there are a few friendly faces who say hello once they recognize you walking in the park.

Nice park, gym, playground close my house. More than 12 YEARS EVERY morning I run 2/3km.and go to gym. This Tuesday I got wery serious accident in the gym area. All my life changes 100%. Short story Two guys from Jamaica aggressive, I ignored them maybe one minute but I can't believe what I listening. They set me Hitler Hitler white b...... Buck to your cantry. I understand everything but rasizm No.Gym area isn't not private space only public you got a routine I don't care. Adults, kids dead every day, pandemic around the world and your big men like babies not touch my toys. This old guy show me what him things about everyone who is different country work pays tax, lived legally (better not to riding) But remember never punch women (you scared me) you got a serious problem control your self and how to speak properly. The Lordship Rec's an excellent spot to exercise, relax and unwind. The woodland nature trail inside the main Downhills Road is an interesting feature. However I wish the "friends of the Rec" wouldn't continuously chop the trees and branches particularly in the growing season. After all it is a "wood".

I feel obliged to warn park goers to both the Lordship Rec and adjoining Downhills Park of groups of youths (between 2 and 7 in number) on bikes and wearing hoodies & black scarves covering their faces. These gangs have harassed and/or robbed of phones and valuables several of my friends and acquaintances. I myself with 2 of my friends were harassed by a gang of 4, but luckily we were near the gate and got out quickly. On this occasion the Police arrived quickly, but the gang were gone.

Usually the Police fail to respond or advise complainants to report it online as they're too busy. Please be alert, as these gangs have no regard for age, sex...
