Ok, where do i start. Firstly, id like to say, this place has very tasty food! Thats about it. Before this place used to give you some nice portions, thick pieces of adana kofte. Specially in the wraps. Two thick skewers sticking out from the top of the wrap. But now………it has become a joke. I know when people read this they will say “aahhh theres always that one person out of the 100” but listen, hear me out. I feel violated today with the meal i got. I have uploaded some photos so you can see where i am coming from. AGAIN the food is lovely. The portion for the price is a joke. Look at the photos and tell me yourself that them koftes dont look paper thin? My spoon is thicker than them, and the rice…i got about 4 mouthfuls out of it. I am paying £12 i expect to get full up. Do you know how many koftes i can make for £12 if i went tfc? Wow, i can feed my whole family. I havnt even finished my meal and i stopped to write this, this is how bad this has made me feel. AGAIN dont understand me wrong, the food is lovely. I understand that prices has gone up, everythings price has gone up, that is understandable. But come on guys, you cant be putting your prices up and cutting down your portions at the same time. Look how thin the kofte is, i am really surprised how you kept it on the actual skewer. The skewer is even thicker than the kofte. Mind baffling. I really hope you read this and sort it out because once people see this they will understand where i am coming from. Let me make myself clear again, the food is lovely please dont get me wrong. But the portions brother is ridiculous. I really hope you can sort out this problem. Reply back to my review and tell me you have sorted out this problem and i will be more than happy to come back as i really enjoy the food. Thank you for your...
Read moreAfter our bad experience in Ye Olde Turk restaurant, in Greenwich, this place was like a medicine! We booked in Ye Olde Turk restaurant for my wedding party for 25 people, they behaved such a nonsensical to us and we had to leave the restaurant! One of my guests suggested this place and we called and explained them the situation, they were very welcome to us! While my wedding party was going wrong, suddenly everything changed and had been the best day of my life because of this restaurant, even a last minute call! The staff are lovely, the musicians are amazing, the food was spectacular! Special thanks to Ms Ilknur for hosting us! I definitely recommend this place everyone and I look forward to be...
Read moreNicely decorated place (as many of these Turkish/Kurdish restaurants are) with a short menu. Mixed lamb and chicken shish was not the same quality (chicken was a bit dry and lamb was stringy) or size as in similar Green Lanes joints but same kind of prices (eg Umut 2000 offers a better salad and side dishes include grilled onion in pomegranate juice alongside the standard bread and dips).
The grill guys were friendly but when I asked the somewhat offhand dark haired lady for sauces, she brought a small plastic takeaway container of the same chilli sauce as in fried chicken shops (disappointingly not homemade). She also tried to tell me that the cacik dip was actually garlic sauce as if I'd never...
