The Pen Theatre — Attraction in London

My advice would be to get yourself on a mailing list for this lovely new venue. You will find easier places to get to (10 or so min walk from the nearest station) but I doubt you will find a warmer welcome in any London theatre. The staff are absolutely lovely, so chatty and genuinely interested in all of us visitors, it had a feel of popping in a friend's house, drinks are reasonably priced which is refreshing for a theatre. It might be unfair to give a 3 stars but the act we saw was terrible and tainted our whole experience. The venue is tiny, only a handful of people and very intimate - don't go unless you like having to talk to everyone in there, the stage was behind some curtains in the bar. Cute little bar and the staff seemed friendly. We ended up leaving before the end of the show as it was so late. Little bit awkward to find - thank god for google maps and sat navs, not very close to a train line, but a lovely little gem of a venue a few minute walk from Millwall football ground. 20 seater, friendly staff, and some good comedy (and theatre) shows booked in for work in progress shows building up to the Edinburgh fringe.
