Three Standing Figures is a Sculpture by one of the greatest British artists: Henry Moore. The Three Standing Figures are based on his work in the bomb shelters during the Second World War. It represents three identifiably female forms that are “conscious of being in the open air”, looking at the horizon.

My dream has come true to be here. So beautiful and full of Memories. As a child we watched the scene with Mr Bean and now when you are there nothing looks like the same time. Everything is more Green, but the Memories are still there forever. I like this Park and the figures. 🇬🇧✨✨✨

I love all of Henry Moore's sculptures. This one is a little hard to find but a joy when you do. The setting is lovely and the sculpture is magnificent

Unexpectedly chance upon this, positioned on a mild knoll against a curtain of trees. “... I wanted to overlay it with a sense of relief and create figures conscious of being in open air, they have a lifted gaze.....” * Inspired from a recollection of a group of women emerging from a WWII bomb shelter. Sculpted in English Darleydale stone, 1948. An ambivalent and disconnected trio, a commonality of dread...

This statue, as I understand it, represents three London women looking skywards during the German bombing Blitz on London during World War Two. I'm not an art fan, but I found these figures quite haunting. Their eyes scanning skywards and their body language seem to eminate a sense of...
