The station is clean and an effort has been made because there are nice flowers boxes on the concourse between the platforms. However the staff were not good. A lady with a pram and baby was struggling to exit through the gate by a ramp, obviously having problems as she was wondering the platforms. I asked if she needed help and she explained the gate was not opening. I suggested she press the call for help button. She said it wasn't working so I offered to go to the top of the stairs and speak to the staff and ask them to help. I explained the situation to a staff member, who said the gate is broken. I said - okay but she needs to leave. The man kind of shrugged his shoulders - I was confused. I asked if he spoke English because he appeared to not understand what I was saying. He said I should talk to another.satff member who was behind the glass and could hear what was being said already. I literally had remind the three men that worked there that they are at work and could they please help. It seemed to me they didn't understand English because they were not helping. After explaining to them that they are at work and the passenger and her baby need help again, 1 of the three men came down the stairs and said he could hold the pram if she held the baby. When we reached the bottom of the stairs another woman with a pram and baby was also stuck, the gate then miraculously opened. Frankly the attitude if the staff stank ! Especially as it was a woman and baby that needed help - quite bad really, not...
Read moreAs a disabled commuter, i am disgusted with the attitude shown at West Croydon station. The staff never respond quickly to the buzzer request to open the ramp exit ( car park side ). Many a time i have been stood waiting far more than is necessary especially uncomfortable in winter weather. Last Friday night I had to press the buzzer 10 times before the gate was opened. This morning they never opened the gate at all. Due to this i missed my train and was forced to slowly walk round to main entrance. There were several staff present so why couldnt they open the gate ? It was very painful for me to walk down the steps with no help. It makes me feel second rate as i am disabled. It...
