This place used to be a really great visit but now seems understaffed , untidy and disorganised. The staff available come across really nice but on the whole seemed pretty absent . Toilets closed off throughout the site meant finding somewhere for the little man to pee became a nightmare . When a kid says I need to go , I might wet myself you'd like to think you would have to take a lap of the toilet facilities around the venue . Lack of cleaning supplies and response time after a child was sick over the cafe floor was not a great observation, chairs and tables used to barrier off the affected area is not the way . in other areas staff were seen to just be charting while other areas were mobbed and staff could be seen to be struggling , go figure right. Cuddle corner was probably the best bit for kids but was only open to walk through . There were two rabbits you could stroke but that was all . Knowledge on the animals was a zero however the girl in the cuddle corner was a great host for kids . Hand washing stations are advised all around but are not maintained , I'd 100% recommend bring your own tissue as you may struggle to dry your hands on anything other than your own shirt The gardens are also overgrown where previously they were well kept.
This place has great potential and one that was previously met. It might just of been an off day but theres a whole lot of room for improvement. My son likes the place so it still gets a thumbs up and we will return and hopefully the improvements will be visible . I appreciate we're in a funny place with covid measure etc but I'd hate to hear this used as an excuse as many other places would seem to be operating to a much better standard .
My son's favourite bits were the park and the rabbits , for me the sheep and the pigs are great and have alot of character , worth the visit alone !
+Entry + food prices +Easy to navigate +Activities for kids +3to4hrs avg visit time +Friendly staff
-cleaning standards -closed toilets -under staffed -poor maintenance -practically empty gift shop -lots of missing animals / empty spots
Definitely worth the visit but definitely...
Read moreWe booked hoping to see the owls. The owls and meerkats were closed with no warning on the website or when we arrived and showed our tickets. So we had a huge disappointment when we saw the sign when we got to the owl part. We decided to try and make a day of it anyway but only ended up spending an hour there. We bought a bag of food at the entrance and were told we could only feed animals in curtain areas. But this ended up only being sheeps and alpacas. We feel like we should have been informed when buying the food that it would only be for 2 animals. So we were again disappointed. A lot of the site seemed to be shut/shutters over the buildings. We decided to have lunch before we left, but the pizza place was closed (at lunch time) and the tea room had a very limited menu which didnt suit the whole party. So we ended up leaving without eating. Another dispointment. We did feed the alpacas and we enjoyed that. There was 3 of them and 4 of us plus other people waiting to feed as there wasn't many animals to feed, so we did feel like we had to rush the only part of the day we enjoyed. We went to wash our hands afterwards. There was a huge cue of people as there was only 2 sinks and everyone was telling us there wasn't anything to dry your hands with afterwards. My brother uses a walking stick and found it difficult to use it with his hands wet. Most of the animals you could see werent in the bit where you could feed the animals and it was just some goats, a sick pony (the sign said it was ill but you could tell anyway) and some rabbits. We expected more from the way the website boasted about farm animals. We didn't end up buying anything at the gift shop as it was very over priced. A small plush teddy that would be £5 at a regular zoo was £14.95.
We booked for a birthday treat and all 4 of us left very unhappy. It was a cheap ticket to get in and not even worth the price of entry. Definitely would not recommend unless you have a very small child who wants to go to a playground and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreKent Life need to be more mindful and careful who they invite to provide "family" entertainment. We attended at the weekend and they had a pro wrestling company performing, advertised as family entertainment. My 6yr old Son is very sensitive and struggles in public and socialising... but he loves animals, whilst at the farm we thought we would try encourage him to do other activities, including watching the wrestling. We were having a really lovely day, but when the wrestlers came out, one of them was completely inappropriate, he came out to the seated area stood over my 6yr old Son then proceeded to loudly and aggressively shout in my Son's face "look at you, you're ugly! With your stupid Minecraft top on, look at you, you're stupid". He was trying to play a Villain, but he took it wayyy too far and the crowd actually gasped and asked if we were OK. He was bang out of order. It was incredibly embarrassing and vile behaviour. If you're going to do that, do it to the adults not a young vulnerable child. For any child, that would be humiliating and upsetting but my Son was devastated. The Wrestler could see how upset my Son was and the crowd's shocked reaction and he didn't care at all. My Son was so upset and asked to go home, his Dad took him straight to the playarea. As parents we felt incredibly guilty for taking him, but we really didn't expect to have that awful experience at a family farm! I ended up speaking to a lady on my own who was part of running the "Pro" wrestling company, she was very apologetic and provided a free gift to give to my Son as an apology. I tried to bring my Son back over as I said I wanted the wrestler to apologise but my Son was too scared and upset. I'm still furious with the wrestler, who was anything but professional, he must feel so proud of traumatising a...
