I absolutely adore Burley Village! The location is idyllic, the shops are brilliantly attuned to the ancient history of Burley, very unique and perfectly quirky. The surrounding ancient woodlands are totally magical and abundant with all forms of life. A great spot to stop at for amazing walks around the New Forest with everything else you could ever need there too, but offered as a welcomed change from the norm. The Old Farmhouse Restaurant and Tea Rooms serve great food and amazing cake with great tea and coffee, other great drinks selections and lovely staff. The Queens Head pub serves great food and has a lovely atmosphere and great pub garden area in the forest. The Coven of Witches shop is a must see, stacked with interesting, incredible things and beautiful, knowledgeable people! As is the Old Cow Shed who sell incredible clothes and hats and you'd be a fool to miss stopping at the Burley New Forest Fudge Shop. You can try delicious New Forest Ice Cream from the Fairy shop and check out their trinkets and potter about the dreamy magical village to your hearts content....
Read moreWe live in New Forest so find this a lovely place to do walks but as for the village part it is very touristy and we avoid during holiday times. The day we stopped off for an ice cream, we saw far too many people walking their fogs around in 24c heat plus. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! The pavements are boiling, your dogs were panting, and if you knew ANYTHING about dogs, you would know not to walk them in that heat 🤬🤬. So aside from this, be warned there are a lot of beautiful horses on the road here. Drive v v slowly, and just because they are on the side of the road, it does not mean they will stay there. Drive carefully, slow, and wide. It's their forest. Burley is nice, but as i said, I'm busy most of the time, and we prefer the tranquillity of the forest and more remote places away from bikes, children, and tourists. If you like witches and stuff, there are plenty of little shops for you to pop into, and the ice cream stop...
