Perfection! Value for money: 10/10 seems expensive when you look but when you get the food it’s definitely worth it Presentation: 10/10 Staff capability: 10/10 Friendliness: 10/10 very welcoming staff and area Menu variety! 10/10 10/10 would recommend! We ordered 3 drinks, a farmhouse grill, cottage pie and cheese, leek and cheese lasagne, toasted tea cake, and two cakes. The food was impeccable and presented beautifully, all of it was cooked to perfection, really couldn’t fault anything. They were great portion sizes, the slices of cake were amazing! The staff were friendly and attentive and able to serve us in a timely manner from when we arrived. We were clearly clueless as we had never been there before and the team were so kind and let us know everything we needed to know. The menu is extensive, they have so much to offer and they have keys to say what is vegetarian and gluten free and what can be made gluten free, dairy free or vegan. The foods available for dietary restrictions sounded delicious, the leek and cheese lasagne was gorgeous 😍 The vibe of the place and the kindness of the staff really exemplify what a lovely area Burley is, and what lovely people are there. Thank you for amazing service today! We will definitely be back!!

When you go to Burley, you expect to pay over the odds for trinkets and tucker. However, there is an exception to this rule, the Old farmhouse tea room. Maybe because it was off peak and a bit of a drizzly day that it was busy but not packed. A warm welcome was given, and orders were taken, we all went for the Farmhouse grill, which was simply awesome. Chunky chips, delicious fresh eggs, piping hot beans. Well cooked bacon and the star of the show, the sausages. The sausages were of very good quality with plenty of taste and texture. Food prices were very reasonable considering the location. The drinks, however, were on the pricier side of Burley, but again, given the location, of no suprise. All in all, a very good meal in relaxing surroundings with New Forest ponies clip clopping past the window. Will definitely take time to visit again, maybe a little earlier in the day, for something off their deliciously tempting breakfast menu 😋

A really nice and homey tea room in Burley in the New Forest. Traditional English menu with a few extras. Breakfast is served until 11am and cooked lunch starts at 12 noon. Light bites of sandwiches, baguettes, cakes and scones are available all day. We arrived midday so we had lunch there. The farmhouse grills was great and so did the pie of the day and the fish and chips. After the meal, we had a walk to inspect the village and walked to Burley manor before returning to the tearoom for their cake and afternoon tea. There are indoors and outside seating. Once seated, the staff will come to your table to take your food and drinks order. To pay, you will need to remember your table number and make your contactless card payment at the till. Plenty of car parking spaces on site for the tearooms customers. If you intend to have a walk after your meal, tell the staff so that they know when you are coming back.

Soon to be on Gordon Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares - If a 0 star rating was an option this would be selected. Single handedly the worst experience of customer service I have ever received. Firstly, when we were seated it was not busy but we were told between 11 and 12 we could only order ‘small bites’ as breakfast finishes at 11 and lunch didn’t start until 12. We accepted the wait for lunch and ordered some drinks in the meantime. Another table were seated after us, yet received all of their drinks before us. Our drinks did finally arrive however this was after our food was put in front of us… Never have I seen eggs so poorly cooked - burnt to a crisp on the whites and the yolks were so solid they were not edible. My partner had her food served with cheese on her burger (although she had asked without due to her lactose intolerance.) I made the waitress aware of the eggs in which she agreed that they should not have been served. My partners burger was taken back and returned but to my shock, they had just removed the cheese, still leaving the flavour and residue. My partner decided not to eat any of her food. We were approached by at least three different waitresses and had to explain our complaint to all of them, showing a complete lack of communication. Eventually, when we had requested the bill we were served by who we believed to be the manager. She said they were willing to take one meal off of the bill. I accepted due to me eating the majority of my food, bar the eggs. Before I could make the payment, this manager then received a tap on the shoulder from who we believed to be the owner. She started off by asking us what our concerns were in which I started to explain. I was then abruptly interrupted and the owner proceeded to say ‘I have been approached by the table sat behind you, who have told me that you were discussing how you complain all the time to get free food.’ I rejected this accusation as it was completely untrue and showed her the eggs on my plate (which were still yet to be taken away) and asked if she would have served them. Her response as the owner was laughable ‘I’m not a chef.’ At this point it was obvious she was in denial and had no intention of having an adult conversation and resolving the complaint. As a last attempt I pointed at my partners plate and said ‘If this was something we do regularly, surely she would have eaten the food and not left every single bit of it?’ The owner continued to ignore my point and kept accusing us of being dishonest and being serial complainers. Eventually she became irate and said ‘leave and don’t pay,’ in which I responded ‘no I’m happy to pay for the meal that was eaten and the drinks.’ She then ripped up the bill and ushered us out. My partner and I felt extremely embarrassed and belittled, when we tried to be respectful throughout. I would suggest avoiding this place...

Absolutely awful! Got sat down and told it was table service. We had to go and ask a waitress to come over to us after waiting 20 minutes. It wasn't even busy. When asked a simple question of what pie of the day it was - the waiter didn't even know what was available. He laughed and walked away to check.

As we proceeded with our order. We asked for a lemonade that was advertised on their special menu. Again the waiter was clueless. We had to navigate him to the board. We asked if he was new - to receive the answer " I have been here for ages ". In that instance there is absolutely no excuse for the waiter not to know the menu!

When we finally got to order - we waited 30 minutes for a HAM EGG AND CHIPS AND A PANINI! 30 minutes! On top of that they have made the wrong order... How can you mess up a panini!

I understand that this is one of the only places to eat here. However, you'd think that the manager/owner would take more pride in training their staff considering that is the case! No one will come back if that is the way guests are treated. I certainly will not. Will not recommend to anyone coming here. Both pubs 200m away and plenty of cafes up the road have much...
