Ok, I was brought up here as a child just after Methuselah died, so it always holds happy memories for me. It's my safe place in the world. The place I go to just for 24 hours a year to reset my soul. But, it has become a holiday "kiss me quick" town in the summer months. Don't get me wrong, New Quay will always be there under to influx of holiday makers, but I prefer to visit when they have all gone home. That's when you get the true beauty of the place. So I visit our of season and revel in its charm. It's beauty. It's character. The views. The real reason it existed in the first place. And no masses of fish and chips eating swarms of holiday makers. Ok, that's my preference. You may differ. Your perogative.

Read moreWe had a fabulous day on the beach. Lovely sand and beach sheltered so a nice calm sea. Ideal for our 17month old granddaughter to paddle in. Loved it so much spent eight hours there. A snack bar on the beach provides coffee, ice-cream, chips and other snacks. There's deckchairs for hire and water and sand paraphernalia available to buy. I think reasonable priced considering its right on the beach. Toilets at the top of the ramp that takes you down to the beach, 20p to enter card payment accepted though someone kindly triggered the sensor to allow me in. Read morePleasant harbour with various food outlets both eat in and takeaway. There is a good chance that you will be able to see dolphins not far offshore in the bay.
